I've hardly used my M3W for 3 months - I took it back to my dealers in November for a service and some warranty work, and what with poor weather, a puncture to repair (picked up on the journey home form the dealers) and a new toy to distract me I just haven't used it.
It's affections were replaced in my garage by a 1936 MGTA Special and to be honest, I was pondering whether to sell it in the the spring. Partly because the MG has as much power, has bags of character and is also a hoot to drive and surely you only need 1 car like that in the garage.
Well, I finally got back into the 3 wheeler today and to my surprise I fell in love with it all over again. It is an early car (May 12 delivery) and at last most of the niggles have been sorted. The compensator has been replaced again and no longer sounds like a bag of nails (well at least it's 90% better - I'll upgrade to the latest unit once it's been proven in service). I've been lucky with bump steer as my car was fixed by retrofitting the Suspa shocks from an even earlier dealer demo car, again I'll upgrade to the comfort pack at the next opportunity.
Fundamentally after close to 2 years of ownership I feel I've finally got the car it always should have been.
I drove for 50 miles today on a dull, wet day and loved every minute of it - I remembered why I bought this car in the first place, that despite all of the niggles and problems and too much time spent back at the factory and the dealership, this car is absolutely fantastic, life affirming fun!!
I'm now lucky enough to have 2 slightly crazy, eccentric cars to choose from and plan to keep it that way.....I'd better go and break the news to my long suffering but very understanding better half....
