I don't want to lose even 1cm of luggage space to speaker boxes. Marshall Amp and speaker on the luggage rack, perhaps??????

I've been waiting to hear your thoughts before doing the same work on mine, seems Henry wants to do a Roadster....
SO, a more detailed report on the sound please!
What do you listen to?
Can you turn it up so the sound is clear without distorting at 60 to 70 with the hood down?
And the Biggie: How much? (I'll send soup packets) Peter, Sorry to get back to you so late but the day was quite busy  To answer your questions: - Equipment: Alpine SWE1200 Alpine SPG-17C2 6"5 Coax Speaker (pair) - What do you listen to? Now that's a rather personal question! ;-) Anything really, from classical (symphony - some opera) to jazz (Free Jazz mainly and female vocal), with a hint of industrial and upmarket hip hop. - Can you turn it up so the sound is clear without distorting at 60 to 70 with the hood down? Oh yes (no distorsion/ no vibration - which I feared most): even though best results will be with hood up, I came back to London on Sunday with the music playing fine @60. However, there will always be competition with the wind and engine. - And the Biggie: How much? Sound System + sound deadening + labour was a little more than 700 quid Hope this helps. I saw your car up on the hoist on Friday when I was down there with Wirewheel dropping my Roadster off. Shame we missed you. How do you find the results of the ECU remap?
They had just finished a similar audio installation on a Roadster and that sounded very impressive! With all the work involved, not a bad price.

Although I really wouldn't consider myself an expert in performance, I really think I can feel the change in the engine behaviour: steadier increase in power, especially on third and fourth gears. And consumption does not seem to be altered that much.
Shame I missed you too. But I'm sure there will be some other opportunities: I'll see you maybe in Malvern on Saturday, or in Waddesdon in May ?

Forgive me all for I have sinned.........Last weekend I fitted a stereo into my 2011 Plus 4.
A Sony mech less head unit ( Bluetooth, Pandora, USB) no CD, fitted straight into the existing cavity. The wiring harness plugged straight in ! With that, I installed a Kicker 2 channel amplifier which I mounted in the passenger footwell ceiling (well hidden). 4.00" Alpine two way speakers fitted beautifully into the footwell cavities with a little trimming of the carpet. There was some additional wiring which include better speaker cables and a power cable from the battery direct to the amp.
In all, I am very happy with the installation and it cranks!
Also note that the head unit comes with a remote so I can control the music without wrenching my neck. Can also use my IPhone

If you need a radio vMog it sounds like you have a good system there - enjoy.
We wouldn't chose a Morgan if we didn't have individual tastes.

Happy with mine ;-)
Even found a nice pebble-like remote for my Alpine.
It is true though that a CD player is useless with this rather bumpy car.
