I got the mirrors from morgan west,but you can find them cheaper on ebay,much cheaper,i will send you a msg.but there is a problem with them,you can see back on the drivers side,but the passenger side is kind of useless

I have a set of these uprates Spax coilovers sitting in the garage, waiting to be fitted. But with the weather in the UK being so dire of late, plus lack of garage space necessitating outdoor fitment, I have yet to find out what they're like.

However, my final decision to buy them was made on the strength of a conversation I had with their Development chap at the Classic Car Show at the NEC, as he had personal experience with the setup of them. They are a better shock all round than the stock Spax item and of course they have adjustable platforms. This will allow setting of a slightly lower ride-height, which in itself will help with the bumpsteer and as we know - those early cars ran lower than current of course. This is borne out by the fact that owners who've had the 'comfort steering' mods fitted report that it's much better than before. This is EXACTLY the same as lowering the car, as that too can allow the steering arms to be at the correct height to minimise the geometry change during bump.

Mr Spax said that the spring and damper matching was of a far higher quality and of course they are adjustable in bump/rebound as well. He recommended that shocks were fitted initially with damping on 'softest' and then progressive cranked up until the car felt best to the driver on their kind of roads. That's the beauty of these types of dampers of course - individual settings. However, once you've found something you like, it's probably best to leave them there, as it's too easy to mess things up when you're having a bad driving day!

I will try to get a wriggle on and report back however....

so your using these SPAX Adjustable Shocks on the front suspension to lower the front end to help with the bump steer? and the same shocks to improve the rear ride too?

Indeed Sir - I have a full and matching set, which is important. Moreover, I want ride-height to be correct at both ends, so the adjustable platforms are key to achieve that.

Bored,so i decided to install new bobbins for the exhaust

Done with 1 side,its a very easy job..remove the heat shield and loosen the bobbins,thats pretty much it
