I forgot to mention I had a factory fitted Moto-Lita to start with, I do remember When I had a Lone 3.0 that I kept hitting my fingers on the dash and the leather already had scuff marks on it that was fitted with the standard S/W.
Note S/W is always fully up to keep of my legs. That is why on my Mog the plastic cowl is removed to get the extra room. I have 15" S/W now it came with 14" but I didn't like it.
Cain has very kindly sent me some photos and a sketch. He suggested that I could post them on TM if I liked as he has trouble posting photos. So here they are with the explanatory part of his email. ---------------------------------------------- Rough drawing (the attached pdf) not to scale my Moto-Lita steering boss already cut down to my size a further 20.70mm could be lost if the 3.5mm of the Mog steering shaft is removed. A further 12.5mm by removing Lifeline spacer to steering wheel but this would require the horn to be moved to the dash. But you would need to check if this interferes with your Dash.
I think I would go for something like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport...ring-wheel-boss that does not have splines, and weld on. I believe the Mog steering shaft is from a Land Rover discovery but not 100% I would not wreck my Mog one unless I had a spare.
Incidently I found out why Cain had trouble posting his photos. It seems his camera saves them with the extension .jpeg which is not accepted by the forum software. It is simply a matter of changing the file name extension to .jpg
The file extensions are not normally visible and it is necessary to make them visible.
The german Morgan dealer Morganpark offers also a steering wheel which is 14" at top with a 13" lower park. They are a bit thicker than the Moto Lita wheels.

You may have solved a bigger mystery. Should be highlighted elsewhere?
