Hello M3W's,
I'm going to be ordering an Empire Racing upgrades front suspension. Was wonder if anyone else wanted to get in on an order?
I think the Empire Racing Package will give my little Orange Hot Rod the best possible ride and handling available to date. Since I'm driving her everyday sunny day I'll enjoy the little bugger a little bit more with a better ride, and it's sunny all the time here in South Florida!
This is what the Empire Racing Kit contains from Bill Chaplin; A kit which comprises of all the parts ; New top fully adjustable wishbones . New steering arm ends Steering arm raising spacers 4 off rose joints Billet aluminum wishbone mounts 2 off support tie bars The cost of the full kit is £795 + p+p Please let me know if you need any more details Many thanks Bill Chaplin
I would like to thank PaulJ for all his help and for being the test bed for Empire's upgraded suspension.
Note from PaulJ; I'm delighted with the change in the handling and feel of my car. In addition to removing all traces of bump steer now, the steering itself is lighter and doesn't weight up the more I turn the wheel. The car will also track true around a corner instead of deviating from the line, which was a pain. I honestly think that the new upper wishbone, allied to the spacer kit is the way to go, as it removes toe changes throughout the whole travel of the suspension, both up and down, but it is up to each owner whether they think it is worth investing a little more for the top wishbones, CNC all. brackets and extra spherical joints, which also allow full castor and camber adjustment, should one need to play with it.

Here is Empire's response as to delivery timing;
Hi Jay , We are currently in the process of making the first batch if kits . They should be ready for dispatch in the next 4 weeks.

Any feel for how many orders Empire needs to make a batch run? I read on this forum that Empire was going to have to build jigs & fixtures based on the prototype (PaulJ's car??) before they could attempt to make a run.
I'm working on getting the "2014" steering upgrade but even still, it would lack the ability to be properly dialed in. I, too, think the Empire solution is the best possible route but I was under the impression that they weren't in a position to start producing them yet.
Not to offend anyone or knocking Morgan's approach but it needs more than just fixed A-arms for now and future adjustments.
Yes, I'd be interested if it isn't an "iffy" open-ended proposition. If they had them on the shelf, I'd place an order today. Due to the limited production of the car and further limited number of owner's that will pony up the money for the improvement, I can understand Empire's approach.

You answered my question while I was typing...
Count me in. Where/how to proceed from here?

I e-mailed Bill and place my order. I would suggest e-mailing Bill with your orders too I think the timing is good for Bill to make up a batch of packages.

I believe that my 'order' as it were, was lodged via Paul last November and this may be the case with others on here at the time. I am sure Paul will confirm, but I am pleased to hear that the kits are already taking shape. This really is the best engineering fix, even if the Comfort Steering is a good compromise that helps minimise the impact of the inherent geometry flaw prevalent during vertical suspension travel.

Your order is indeed with Bill R1NGA. I will contact Bill in the next couple of days and see if or when he needs my car with the original kit on, which he made as a one off, before he realized that others would be interested. I can get my car to him at fairly short notice, as he is only about an hour away from me.

Thanks Paul. I just sent Bill an Email asking for price and delivery to the US. I'm very excited as this really seems like the correct answer and considering what I've already paid for the car----

I am likely interested (US delivery), already have a set of the adjustable SPAX, so might as well go all in on the front.
