I've been looking in for a while now, pouring over the forums. I ordered a Plus 4 in late November, but only now after been advised that production has started does it seem real. So time to introduce myself. I actually live just over the Capital Territory's border, so technically another Morgan in NSW. As many of us do I suppose, I agonised over the decision for some considerable time - even before the even harder decision of deciding colour - but thought it was time to move on from motorcycles, which I still enjoy, but increasingly less so in the colder winter months we experience here. Despite our 39 degrees now, we regularly experience morning minus temps in winter. So, heated seats option ticked. It's increasingly difficult to use a really fast car in oz, so a Morgan seemed to tick all my boxes, as being a fun drive at sensible speeds, lots of open air guaranteed, and I might even persuade my wife to join me.
Also know what I'm getting into, as I had a '51 +4 as my first car in about '63. Can't say I treated it with respect and it ended up very heavily modified, but it left a lasting impression.
Still have about 4 months to wait, but its at least into countdown now.

Cheers

Welcome Roger from WA.

So what was the selected colour?

Still wondering if it is the right decision. I'm keen on the early Plus 8's, so I've gone for a 60's/early 70's colour. My wife said `big mistake`, terrible resale, etc. But, it's what I wanted. It's Bahama Yellow, used originally by Porsche and then Aston Martin. Aston used it again as an option on the 2006 Vantage. With alloys to complete the early +8 look.

Family friends in the UK have a very similar shade of yellow and it looks great. Many on here will agree (there has been a recent spate of yellow cars!).

Welcome Roger.....there are a few of the regulars on here who rather like yellow cars.
I'm sure they will pop their heads up shortly!

Although I had a couple of yellow cars back in the 70's it's not something I thought I'd consider until I saw the two tone yellow and dark green one at the factory a few days ago.

I do like the alloy wheels though but then I am biased.

Colour is a very personal choice and, just my view, I really like the look of a yellow Morgan, in fact I like the look of every Morgan I have seen. True some a little more than others but one of the big attractions to large meetings is to look at the range of colour and trim combinations, to walk around and think 'I like that idea' and file it away to see if it would work on mine. Little trim tweaks, ideas for everything, I have realised some very smart people own Morgan's and we are not sheep all following trends because someone tells us its a 'must have'.

Good on you, the main thing is you have one and in the sun, covered in dead flies after a days blast you will look at it and know you did the right thing and have the Morgan smile that none owners just cant attain ;-).

Another big welcome from WA Roger. Sounds like you are a Queanbeyan boy. I lived in Canberra for 2 years just after I was married. I have many fond memories of drives down to Batemans Bay and I guess you will enjoy some of the great roads in the mountains near you. woohoo
