Today the replacement brake pipe arrived, all fitted OK.
I also acquired a Gunson Ezibleed kit and used this to firstly bleed the whole system and then to bleed the air. Great kit, every home tinkerer should have one! Easy to bleed the system by yourself with minimum effort. (Note most reviews say the piping with the kit is not long enough, it is for a Morgan).
I need to now go for a test drive but whilst the pedal feel "light" it seems OK and with it pressed down the brakes are hard on. I guess in a day or so some minor bubbles may combine so I will try another bleed. Maybe I am just imagining it?
But I am pleased to have fully refurbished front calipers and pistons, new flexible brake pipes front and rear, new front disks and painted rear drums. Combined with the new shoes and pads, they should be good for a while! Fingers crossed!

Good job, maybe they just need some bedding in to give you the feel you want.

New pads always feel a bit springy until they bed in. It doesn't take long usually.

New pads always feel a bit springy until they bed in. It doesn't take long usually. especially if you do some left foot braking!
