I thought I'd start a new thread to finish the story.

I've fitted the modern headlamps offered on line as a proper up to date replacement for the 1970s 7" light units loved by Morgan.

They use a modern moulded reflector and clear glass to get maximum light output: with Osram "NightBreaker" H4 bulbs, or similar, they are very bright with a reasonable dip pattern.

But more: they include a ciecular LED driven side light.

Switched off my first thought is that they look a bit modern, the bulb is very clear to see, but the look is growing on me.

With side lights on, and matching LED bulbs in the wing munted lights the effect is striking. The photo was taken at 5pm on a cloudy day inside the garage, but without flash.

They are VERY bright, exactly as modern day time running lights.

Why do this? I've had a couple of near "I didn't see you mate" incidents with vehicles pulling out from turnings this winter. I believe that daylight running lights do attract attention and with Aldermog so low and painted nearly black people just don't see it.

For now I'm going to keep them fitted. But hanging back is easy enough.

The cost?
The hew headlamps are £39.00 the pair, Night Braker bulbs are about £22 a pair and the wing LEDs were £5.00 the pair.
So £66 all in.

Very impressive- how are they at illuminating the road at night? I fitted Cibie H180s as an upgrade from the originals, but the best price I could find was still twice what you've paid.

Did your Cibies come with bulbs? because the Angel Eyes don't.

Hi Peter,

They look great. What were the fitting costs - as not much good at DIY!

I'd guess Laurie at Williams would take 30 min to do it all....
It took me about an hour....
But he knows what he is doing!
