Hi All,
I am looking to sell my Morgan. I took the step of spending my future house deposit on the car, reasoning that if I bought a house I'd never afford a Morgan, but I was prepared to delay owning a house by 18 months, to be able to say I'd owned a Morgan once. It's always been part of the plan to sell it after my Summer of fun and that time has come around.
Basic details:
1980 Morgan 4/4 two seater, with Ford Crossflow 1600cc engine and 4 speed gearbox. Owned 18 months (the previous owner had it for 22 years - There are 7 previous owners) and bought from Mike Duncan Morgan's in Kidderminster in November 2012. Done 103,400 miles. MOT until October 23rd 2014. Currently Sorn'ed. Will be reinsured and taxed for six months from the 1st of April ready for the coming Spring / Summer.
Connaught Green with stone / beige everflex soft top and sidescreens (Car would have been Brunswick green new). Chrome pivot swivels on the hood frame. Brown leather bonnet strap fitted, and brackets for headlamp stoneguards in place.
Brand new Muirhead leather stone / beige interior and matching stone carpets. Walnut veneer dashboard, black leather 13" Mota Lita steering wheel, Restall reclining seats. Engine rebuilt with uprated camshaft, stage 3 head and other minor tweaks (approx. 15bhp increase to approx. 110bhp) including uprated air filter. Telescopic damper conversion all round. Roll bar and scuttle roll bar fitted in matching green including inertia reel seatbelts. Stainless bumpers and painted silver wire wheels. Front fog lamps. Fibreglass front and rear wings. Comes with black tonneau cover, adapted to accept the roll bar. Car partially rebuilt by Rutherfords in 2002 (approx. £6k spent including full respray, bills in the paperwork) Car comes with an inch thick history file from the last 25 years, with old MOT's, tax discs, bills for various work done including Rutherfords rebuild and engine rebuild etc.
In addition the car comes with a box of spares including: Set of brake pads and shoes, set of rubber bonnet corners, the original air filter casing, spare clutch and throttle cables, a roof car cover, a box of miscellaneous screws and gaskets, the cross rail for the roll bar if you wanted to use it for competition (there's a photo of the car on the Shelsey Walsh Hillclimb circuit in the history file), and a watercolour painting of the car.
In terms of a general condition assessment, the car is now very good but not concours throughout. All the hard work has been done and it is good for regular use with normal regular maintenance. A good first Morgan for someone in a good colour combo with lots of desirable bits.
I am looking for £16,350 or a near offer for the car. The car is in the village of Kimpton, near St Albans in Hertfordshire. If you would like to know more PM me or give me a call on 07765 713967 (Nic).
