I'm thinking about getting a cover for my M3W and noticed that there are two available. The outdoor cover seems like the logical choice since it offers protection from the elements. Is there any reason the outdoor cover can't or shouldn't be used as an indoor cover as well?

If the outdoor cover is 'breathable' then I cant see a problem, if its not maybe the car could sweat underneath a little, if its not inconvenient this could of course be overcome by lifting it off on occasion. I have an outdoor cover for my 4 wheeler, its soft lined and breathable and so not a problem, I use it when I don't have my car in its airchamber during winter months garage was built in the days before DPM under the concrete and its always been damp. I guess it all depends on how long you want to leave it covered and once away will you be able to remove the cover for a few hours every month? They both look smart though.

The outdoor cover is breathable and waterproof and although would of course work inside too, it is a little cumbersome in truth and nowhere near as easy to fit. The interior cover is like a big onsie and is quick to fit and remove. I have both and they could both be fitted at the same time if required, for extra protection if required.

The inside lining of the outdoor cover is not quite as soft, so is more likely to rough up over time and possibly mark the paintwork - unless you always have the 'underwear' version available too.

Ringa is correct. I have the outdoor cover. I use it indoors to good effect but will be wrapping it up on the luggage rack to travel abroad in a couple of months to keep my car safe and dry. Im happy enough with it but had I just been using it indoors would have gone for the purpose made indoor onesie.

What does the outdoor cover look like when it's all bagged up? Please don't say 'a bag'.. Big, small etc?

It is like a duffle bag, at the risk of infuriating you I would call it medium. Im away from home or I would measure it. It would compress with some straps like you use on a sleeping bag.

Way too big to carry with you on a 2-up tour needing max luggage space in my opinion - but OK if you're travelling alone. Uses up too much space - that's what a tonneau is for surely?!

It sounds as if it would fit down the bottom of the passenger footwell and be out of the way until needed?
