An afternoon off in the sunny south west. So a bit of light cleaning and a few local miles to dry out and we are ready for a run up to the Williams open day on Saturday.
THREE days without Henrietta - up in York on what should have been 500 mile test for the ecu remap BUT 's campervan needs its brakes doing and eldest daughter needs a bed moving 15 miles and that wont fit in the Mog. Grrr.
More sun here today (sorry ) so met up with my +8 owning friend Graham at Otterton Mill. Tea and cakes were consumed in the sunshine.
A nice lady in the carpark, who knew her classic cars, spent some time admiring Stanley. She then talked about the Triumph Trophy that she planned to restore.
A full day at the factory today....so in the absence of my roadster at least I was surrounded by Morgans of all shapes and sizes! Including a rather special Three Wheeler.....which I think might have featured on here before...airbrushed with skulls, wraiths etc, polished skulls as headlights and skeletal fingers holding the mirrors! Strangely owned by a very normal ( well, to me) person!
Jays Former Morgan owner. Gone but hopefully not forgotten!
Sunny but cool (65F) in Florida today. Took the '86 Plus 8 to the grocery again to buy some non essentials and to fill the tank. Leave in the morning for Charleston South Carolina on the coast. Should be a full 7 hours, at highway speeds to get there.
(Glad to have the 5 Speed Box in the Plus 8. Loved the '71 Plus 8 but the Moss Box was just too busy on the highway.)
This is the weekend of the big MOGSouth Spring Meet. We expect over 50 folks and 25 Morgans, which should include the full Range of Morgan cars.
Noggin on Friday evening. Saturday starts with morning libations, then coastal drives, then a classic 'low country boil.'
I will add a report to the MOGSouth Newsletter and post the newsletter and a gallery of pics to the MOGSouth web site (www.mogsouth.com) upon return.
