I still have time to change the options I selected for my 2014 M3W and am trying to decide if these options are worth the added cost...
1. Heated Seats (I think the heat might come in handy on cold mornings, but not sure how they will handle rain) 2. Leather Storage Pockets (Might be useful for my phone) 3. Starcom Intercom (Might be useful on a long trip) 4. Thatcham Approved Toad Immobiliser (I've heard a few negative things about this system, but I'd like to have some way to secure the car)
Does anyone have any experience with these options and if so, would you order them again if you were selecting options for your M3W today?

1. Heated Seats? I do not think this will substantially protect you from the chilly morning drives. I have driven in some really cold mornings and I do not think the option would have defrosted me more then a cup of coffee. Or tea for the brit in you.
2. Leather storage pocket? Yes! There is absolutely no storage and my phone flies all over the cockpit. Papers do not fare well either. My rally routes always manage to fly away.
3. Starcom? Nah, I have it installed an have not used it once. The ear buds are uncomfortable and the cords are all over the place. Save the money
4. Immobiliser? Maybe, I do not have it an have left the care a couple of times when on drives with the driving clubs. People do congregate around it. This might give you so security.

Thank you Craig. I appreciate the feedback. I'm still debating the heated seats. My thought is that some heat is better than no heat, but not sure if it will really help at all.

1. Heated Seats - I would like this option for the cold morning drives as I enjoy them in my tin-top. I originally ordered this option but it was not an option at that time so I did not get them.
2. Leather Storage Pockets - too small to be of use.
3. Starcom Intercom - I had originally ordered this option but decided to remove it before production started as I did not think it necessary. In a year of ownership I have never had a situation where I wished I had it.
4. Thatcham Approved Toad Immobiliser - I have also heard some off things about this option, didn't order it as the M3W does come with a key to stop people from driving off in it, and if they want it that bad they will just flatbed it away anyways.

heated seats would be my only suggestion out of those 4. Mi3Wheeler hit the nail on the head regarding the other 3

Heated seats make a big difference - had mine installed by Allon White before the factory option became available...couldn't do without them

Just had heated seats fitted to my plus 4 by Allon White. It has made such a big difference to cold weather driving, did four hundred miles with the top down around South Wales weekend befor last .It was about 5 degrees with hail and some showers ,the seats made it all bearable.Worth every penny.

Ref: the immobiliser, why not just fit a secret switch wired into either the fuel pump or the low tension circuit, much cheaper and probably just as good.
The storage pocket whilst undoubtedly useful is awfully expensive, there are other storage options which are much cheaper. ie. nets, parcel shelf, pockets, etc.
Almost anything is cheaper to have fitted later if you really want it, but it depends on what your value for money index is like.

The storage pockets are small, just about fit a credit card in them but not much more. They are very expensive for what they are, almost any after market option must be better value. The intercom has cables that get in the way, better getting a Bluetooth bike intercom off ebay, for a fraction of the price again. I have the factory fitted immobiliser, mainly to keep the insurance company happy, it seems to work OK. If its so cold you need heated seats, I don't go out.

The intercom is a bit of a faf with the wires and the ear buds aren't that comfortable. won't use it, but is great for plugging into the sat nav and it was also really good for communicating with my instructor at Curborough. You can also listen to your iPod or take phone calls with it. The immobiliser on my car hasn't been a problem and I would recommend for some peace of mind. Nippymog has an ingenious storage solution that is cheap and much bigger than the minuscule leather pockets. Perhaps he will post a pic.....
