I was excited to see such project at first, and was hoping that the final price would be below £200G. I've spend the past year looking for a good condition and history of a 1960 AMs. I don't like the Aston Bespoke programme cars. It is so hard to find a good original, relatively unmolested, one with the right history. As you all know the XKR is an inexpensive car and much cheaper than what David Brown is asking. There is no way I'll fork out that kind of money for the car even if there is going to be a hundred of them. The next important question is what will they do after this 100 is sold, if they would be sold. I will go back looking long and hard for an original DB5 or 6 instead. If you look at their online brochure, I don't think any of you will be impressed with the interior of the Speedback either. crazy2

The hand-built British sportscar order book is open. Founder and CEO, David Brown said, “I am delighted to announce that the price for Speedback GT will be £495,000, excluding local taxes. The finished cars are the product of thousands of hours of highly skilled, hand-built craftsmanship, and production will be limited to 100 vehicles.

What would you buy if you had £594,000 lying around?

I agree with you Peter.
Bank the cash, retire and spend the time driving a Morgan.

Totally agree.

I was forced to retire early on health grounds, 3 years earlier than I had planned.
I can thoroughly recommend early retirement; lots of time for driving & fettling Stanley and lots of time to meet friends (think Last of the Summer Wine)

With the current housing market, I would buy a nice appartment in London, rent it out for a couple of years then sell it for even more money and look for a good orginal 1920's Bentley, or spend it all on wine, women and song then waste the rest.

Time to resuscitate this thread methinks, as reviews appeared in the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph.

Having read the review, I'd still rather just have the XKR & keep the change.

If they only have orders for six after all the publicity, 100 seems a stretch!

My Son & I saw this on the M20 a couple of weeks back but didn't know what it was - so thank you Giles. The overall shape is lovely, but some of the details looked odd. We thought the rear lamp covers had fallen off.
