You will have no problems fitting in with the lid on. I am 6'6" and no longer slim. Others would be more unkind!
I had only been in Mogs with the roof down. So this time last year when I decided I was serious about buying a Morgan, I flew from Sydney to meet the Australian dealer Chris VanWyk in Melbourne to see if I could fit in one with the roof up.
It started raining towards the end of the drive and Chris nipped out and put the roof up. No problem.
I did have to learn the technique for entering and exiting with the lid up and particularly with someone in the passenger seat. I am sure an elephant exiting his enclosure backwards has come to some spectators minds.
But hey! It's a Morgan and so many people want to talk about the car they aren't interested in the driver.
And if you have any doubts about legroom, I drove my car 1,000 Kms back from Melbourne in summer heat and legroom was not a problem.
However my feet are in proportion to the rest of me and I find driving bare foot preferable. Someone recently remarked to me that Mog drivers chose slim footwear! Look around and you will see it's so true.
Chris did suggest that a 4/4 had more foot room than other models.
Good luck and please tell us how you get on.

Well. I'm back from Berrybrook a bit damp in places! Mark was really helpful and not at all like your normal car sales person Arrrrgh I fit but foot room is a definite issue on the clutch side. Another issue if I'm going to use it regularly in our rather fantastically stable climate getting out with the roof up in my garage is the next check. So it looks like I'll be hiring one to get an idea of driving comfort as well as entering exiting feasibility. Take it home (clear some of the junk out of the garage) and test the garage side of things. Maybe a weekend hire will be a better fit to purpose? Order some ballet shoes no doubt It would appear seat styles have a big impact as well as body size (car body that is) The 4/4 is a smaller than the Plus 4 to me and in reality these would be the models i'd be looking at with the likelihood of the Plus 4 being the main contender due to it's torque being handy. So the next stage will be finding some dates I can hire a modern version Plus 4, the Roadsters are in all likelihood out of reach for me realistically. It was lovely just sitting looking down that bonnet. (I'm sad I have been known to stand in my garage admiring the curves of my smart Roady )

Good to see you had some fun this morning. What you'll find is that the very things that would put you off buying any other car you'll be most forgiving with a Morgan. Why? Because it's a Morgan.....

Well you're not used to a clutch in the smart....left foot can rest to the right of the clutch pedal ok. Getting in and out is just technique, you soon get a system honestly. There are 3 or 4 preferred methods talked about on this forum. In an enclosed space like a garage you'll be suprised to find that because the door itself is small, you can open it much further than the door on your smart. I had much more trouble sliding out of my smart roadster than i do the mog. Librands door openers are worth a mention as they hold the door open and stop it keep trying to close on your leg as you manouvre. Keep trying...it's so worth it. If you hesitate, do a factory tour and you'll be in hopelss love. Nick

It's part of the problem I'm having to re educate myself as currently I have the smart with an automated clutch and an Audi with a multitronic automatic. I struggle in my wife's Streetka (it will be the Audi that goes by the way!)
I did find the clutch and brake pedals seem further back compared to the accelerator pedal.
I may consider surgery to take a few inches off my Left leg ;-)
I did sit in my SR when i got back and visualised the Moggy door and hood up  I am beginning to think I have a problem with my rationality!

Hope you enjoyed the morning. According to the owners manual 4/4 and +4 have same cockpit dimensions: Width at elbows 119.5mm Legroom 450 - 630mm Door width at waistline 710mm Seat to hood 890mm I don't know if they have different seats in 4/4 and new +4 your dealer will know. As a Morgan novice I still push seat all the way back to get in and out. I also wear narrow shoes on my size 10.5 feet and the roller accelerator pedal on 4/4 gives a bit more pedal room (but only a little). The accelerator is a bit forward of brake and clutch but you soon get used to that. I did worry about getting out in tight car park spaces or garages but have found the car is so narrow that is not an issue. I tried a few Morgans before choosing mine as you need to become familiar with the 'qwerks' of each model. Remember a Morgan is more bespoke than almost any other car so often adjustments can be made to help the car fit you. 4/4 or +4 is a matter of personal choice - both are marvellous. Keep trying. In my experience the dealers (and factory) are very happy to see you going back repeatedly and patient in helping answer your questions. You'll never tire of that view down the bonnet.
