I've just fitted a Brooklands steering wheel to my '09 Roadster. The Morgan shop website rather threw me initially as it says they are only for 2013 cars onward but they have not changed the steering column for some years.

It isn't as simple as just buying the wheel. It needs to be fitted to the boss of the black leather rimmed wheel (Mountney) that comes as standard with a Morgan and which most of us ditch at the start for something more appropriate. Using that boss, which has a black leather cover around it just happens to hide much of the gap in the later column shroud.

Not for everyone, but I think the looks suit my black and alloy dash and it is surprisingly tactile after my leather rimmed Motolita.

That really suits the car Jay and has a nice coordinated appearance. As you say the black and alloy look superb together.

Looks very 'period' & suits the car well, although the centre part still has an air of unfinished about it still. Maybe anodise the outer fixing part in satin black & gloss black the centre horn push, before highlighting the carved out logo in a red shade to suit the leather? Or a cream perhaps. Thin enamel paint or Humbrol would do.

It just seems to allow the black boss rim behind the wheel to overpower the wheel spoke a little I feel.

I do like the Brooklands though. It does say vintage in a very understated way.

Also, please cut three inches off your gear lever and change the knob before ringing me and allowing me to have a weekend in the car.

Thank you and goodnight..
