sorry to hear that p dron, does this mean that all suplexs to date have the issue and they have yet to do a batch with them right or is it that they've fixed it and morgan only has stock currently of the old batch? I have just received confirmation that my Suplex dampers, which were about to be fitted, are junk. Damn, damn, damn! I think I shall cancel the order rather than wait, as I do not have much confidence in the company any more. I'll probably go for the Spax adjustables instead. They may be less clever, but at least they seem to work.

I think the whole lot are dud. A guy from Suplex is visiting Malvern tomorrow to discuss the problem. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall.

Yikes. And yes, would be interesting to be in malvern when the shot hits the fan. Gotta be frustrating for mmc to have this happens as we all know mmc has their own challenges in their builds but to have your suppliers let you down is extra challenging as it's out of your control

Blake When I talked to Dan at Suplex last week he reckoned that the initial few that were built were fine, but there had been a small seemingly innocuous change to a component for the first production batch which had caused the problem. Seems the shocks are made by a sub-contractor to Suplex so the "suppliers let you down" chain gets longer. My take on it is that they are getting a chance to sort it out, but that chance is not going to last very long.

After any change in spec, however small and however seemingly innocuous, there should always be a test.

the question i have on something like this is how does it get sorted for those of us in other countries who don't have access to the factory or even a dealer nearby and had the units installed at the factory during the build?
does suplex cover the cost of sourcing a local mechanic to swap the old units with new units?
while i'm always glad people are willing to own up to issues and get out new products there's still the part where it eats a day of the owner's time dicking around with something like this finding a shop to do the swap, taking it there, waiting or cabbing it home to then cab it back to the shot to pickup the car.
and while i might not be speaking for everyone, the people who have $60k to spend on a weekend car are also people who's time is very valuable both professionally and personally. i don't even want to think about the tab that would of run up from me taking days off from work to deal with sorting out the trike.
but of course the second you pick the trike back up and spend 2 min on the road you forget about how much of a pain it was and that bit sh*t eating grin comes back on your face and you go about motoring!

My reading between the lines was that the change of component was not known till it gave problems. It took me about one minute from taking the first shock out of the box to find that there was a problem and slightly longer to convince myself that I hadn't inadvertently done something stupid myself. I am surprised that Suplex let them out into the wild before finding the problem and also that their supplier did not check before delivery to Suplex. If I had access to a shock dyno then I would probably have run them up to see what they actually did and what range of adjustment they cover, I'm surprised that the manufacturer did not check them this way which would certainly have brought the fault to light.

Exactly right. It's just like BL and Joseph Lucas, Prince of Darkness. No excuse.

I think you guys are just incredible. Suplex has researched and produced a valid solution for a very real problem. They are standing behind their product and immediately jumped on a fault introduced by their supplier. When they have openly acknowledged the fault and and are prepared to replace all faulty shocks you have lost faith and want to cancel.
It should be the opposite and you should be reassured that you are dealing with a company that is prepared to do the right thing.

You make a fair point, Peter.
It's just that when it's your hard earned one and a half thousand pounds plus paying someone half a day to put them in, the realities of small scale, low volume production by a very open and enthusiastic company take a back seat to the phrase 'rip-off' or similar!
Hindsight & patience make poor bedfellows..
