I own a M3W 2014 which has done 1100km. Since yesterday I have the check engine light glowing. Before to go to a Morgan dealer, can anybody give me advice what to check ?
Thanks

Bonjour Jacquesm!

Usually caused by overfilling of fuel. Don't worry!

Drive and use the fuel, it should go out after about fifty kilometres or so.

If engine 'klanks' then stop..I am wrong. grin2

I beg to differ, I have had the amber engine light on combined with uneven running of the engine and a petrol smell on starting and the reason was that the timing belt missed a cog
Timing belt was replaced and timing adjusted but on collecting the car I had a similar problem, bad running on starting and the amber light on above 2,000 RMP but only when my foot was off the accelerator
For the second time in a month the car had to be collected on a flatbed and returned to the dealership where it now sits
I would suggest you return the car to the dealership, I doubt whether the light would come on for no reason
Bon chance

If you are still diagnosing your problem, then maybe this will help. I had similar symptoms. Rough running below 2000rpm and checklight coming on when took foot off accellerator.
After a lot of checking, replacement of ECU solved the problem.
Simple to check by swapping ECU with known good one to rule this out. Oscilloscope checks showed my ECU sending 4 fuel pulses per rev at <2000rpm and the normal one pulse above that.
Checklight was a false "Over Temp" reading.

S&S website has free software that you can download to your PC.
The ECU is under the fuse box . The connector is under a small plate fitted with two very small cap screws.
The cable is just a normal cellphone to USB one.
The mapping in the ECU is locked but you can view most stuff, fault codes etc.
The live gauge view is data overload!
The software is called ProTune

Hope this helps.

hi
this is the link to software

Hard to see arrow points to cover over mini USB port. Fuse cover is off and view from front of car, past battery right hand side

P964 Thank you for your input on the ProTune software, it was extremely helpful.

So let me add my 2 cents here.
When you click on the link P964 posted above you will see two download options one for the software and the other for the manual.
Do not bother with the manual as it is an older one, when you download the ProTune 2 software the zip file contains the new manual.
The software as downloaded is set on basic mode. All this will do is to allow you to clear old error codes and observe live data.
In that mode you will not be able to clear existing error codes or reset the adaptive maps, you need to change the user mode to Advanced.
