Reunited with my 1936 4/4 at Shepshed Watermill last weekend. I had not seen ANM 840 for 45 years, but it was owned and run by Mike for the whole of that time. The current owner, Malcolm let us drive it. The monochrome picture was taken in the 60s at Silverstone - note the lack of advertising. Can anyone guess the identity of the car on the right of the picture?

Well done Jack the Lad, SSII. Standard engine. GerryWal - at the end of last year I heard that the car had been sold (through this forum). I contacted the dealer and he agreed to put me in touch with the past and current owner. It turned out that the past owner (Mike) had had the car since I sold it to him and had traded it in against a 4/4 4 seater. The current owner had bought it because he had always regretted selling his own Series 1, which in fact he had owned at the same time I owned ANM 840. We all met up in our Morgans at Shepshed WaterMill open day (well worth a visit) last Sunday, and of course we all had ANM 840 in common. A great day which we hope to repeat in the future.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. It must be quite a feeling climbing back into your old Morgan after all this time.

NorthernMogman - the cockpit of the 1936 machine was noticeably smaller, and oh! those cable brakes ! BobtheTrain - yes, and if you hadn't gathered, the young lady in the passenger seat is the same person. The Morgan went the way of marriage, but we do still have the dining suit we bought with the proceeds. Jack The Lad - no prize, but you should take great pride from your recognition skills !
