i would love a color thread where it's just the pic(s) of the car and the official color of exterior and interior. can't tell you how many hours i logged online trying to sort out colors when i was ordering my car.

My one will therefore appear as #1001, December 12 which should help get the traditional confusion into the records as soon as possible. Or do I go by the original chassis serial number? Or the date of the replacement chassis?
Hugh might have the same question about in a couple of weeks...

Perhaps we need a second list for all the people who have had replacement chassis - assuming they didn't die when it broke of course.... frown

some more edits to this list, I think for the first 999 cars, we replace in the VIN the 2 by 0, I don't know for the newer cars, which number is written there?

The 2012 onward Morgan Three Wheeler (M3W) Registry

Please cut and paste the most recent list (with this remarks) into your new post and add your car to it.

Please DO NOT use this thread for discussion because it is simply for chassis/ownership records and reference.

Use the number under the right seat and the VIN (the last 3 digits, replace the 2 by 0) and not the number of the wooden frame

under VIN
seat

Calum is spot on, as is the text on the first post in the registry thread.

The VIN under the bonnet/hood is the production number. However, in Morgan fashion, it isn't an exact science and there may be some slight anomalies. It would be incorrect to use the number under the seat or on the chassis.

It should also be noted that the US cars have a slightly different VIN configuration; however, I will post up more when I get more information on the topic tomorrow.

For what it’s worth, other "Registries" I have cars registered on all use VIN numbers [the last 4 digits].

If one wants to get very detailed; VIN, Chassis, Body Frame, and Engine numbers are all part of each M3W’s pedigree.

Why is that the last four numbers of the VIN start with "2"? For example, mine is the 931st M3W to leave the factory and its VIN ends in "2931". Presumably the 1000th (assuming there is only one of them) has the VIN "3000".

But that would be logical.....
