I have moved from a large case to using a couple of waterproof soft Ortleib bags instead. Welcome Shakey! I'll hopefully see you next weekend...if only the weather is as good as we have enjoyed this weekend! I bought Jay's "victorian leather suitcase": purpose designed for a Morgan rack and weighting 7kg EMPTY. Along with the present Mrs Aldermog I went to Jersey for a week, the case and two soft holdalls behind the seats were plenty. As has been suggested packing light is a man thing so I got one bag and about 20% of the case...! As to the high level light, it is all but invisible. Not an issue here in Blighty but there are stories of the French Police getting grumpy about it. So a "clip on" LED strip under the straps would be the answer. The standard uit has a nice cable connector. The actual light unit is helf by 2 wood screws....takes 5 min to remove.

Hi Shakey and welcome to you
We sourced a fantastic leather case from and antique shop in portobllo road london - and it was great. It really looked the part - Mrs Gajet the relined it with red felt
Allon whites made a great cover for it and I too had an LED light so not to obstruct the brake light
THEN we changed to hills alive luggage - these are specifically designed for a morgan and enable you to go a way for a week or so without the need for a case on the back - also better if it rains -
Good luck with your solution

I was advised by my dealer to remove the high level light when traveling in France, they can't complain about what you don't have !

Many thanks.
I will also look for a LED light - hopefully Halfords will have one.

Took this lot around the coast for 22 days and the handling was fine around some twisty roads and steep hills. Its a large Polo Suit case under a home made Rain cover held on with a standard set of Morgan Motor Company Luggage Straps. The High Level Brake light is one for another day as you have no time between now and Sunday to fettle and wire in one of those, I imagine. LED LIGHT Mine was £7 on Ebay This is the one I have which is still serviceable after 4 years and swivels which I needed so that I could set the angle to suit the positioning. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-DC-12V-Car...=item4d11dfc3b7We look forward to seeing you at Waddesdon where you will probably see this kit strapped to the Back in the Roadster 100 Line Up, as we will be staying locally and this has become the standard travelling load minus, Kitchen Sink.

Gajet We use the Morgan soft leather bags, which fit behind the seats, for a weekend away but we take the case empty and bring it back full of wine, food, and other shopping

Hi there, no one has loaded a Morgan more than me, we have a 4/4 1800 zetec 4 seater and have toured as far as Copenhagen, we use a Librands rack with an American Tourista suitcase to fit and a top bag by Simmonds - essentially a boat bag, with 2 heavy lads in the back and neither wife nor me a tiny either, so perhaps 320 kgs of people and perhaps 30 kgs of stuff.
So at this you have to get the tyres hard (30 psi rear not the 20 advised I run the fronts at 26) or the car will not steer very well, then lose some of your excessive driving enthusiasm, my guess is you will need less than this but more than stock.
