There is one (or even more?) discussion on the topic of the bevel box oil here, but mixed up with other themes: Has_anyone_else_heard_of_this has anyone else heard of this ...[/url] but I would like to open a new pure technical thread: I will change the oil of my new bevel box after 1.000 Miles with this oil (fully synthetic hypoid gear oil LS SAE 75W-140) and I would like to add an additiv for gear oil with MoS2 (Molybdenum-Sulphur) for smooth running. You add the small tube of 20 ml to 1 Liter of Oil. What do you think, do you have any remarks? Thanks a lot Achim

I will be very interested in the results if you use the Moly. As mentioned on another thread, this is used in Moto Guzzi final drives and they seem to run quietly and without problems. I am coming up to 1000 miles on my second Bevel Gearbox and it is almost as noisy as the first one, although not as clunky but that may be down to the NVH kit.

Slightly off topic my second compensator started rattling like a bag of nails just like the first one did, so this one having a grease nipple in it I thought I would give it a splash of grease.
Not too sure how much to put in I tried about 8 pumps with the grease gun then went for a test drive, no change.
Back home with nothing to loose I put about half a cartridge in, what a difference no noise at all.
I used JCB High Performance blue grease.
Note to self, keep your nipples well greased!

I would certainly try it. I can't see that it would do any harm and it may very well help.

The Centa Drive has rubber elements, no metal on metal, so I would not grease this
