Trying to get the first 1000 miles on the M3 so that it can go for it's first service and the comfort kit fitted. Up to 450 now, most of these miles have been on narrow country roads with the wife. I enjoy driving quickly, not over the top just cruising around at the speed limit where possible.
My M3 is a bit of a handful on the country roads, forget about the bump steer which is a major problem but when a quick change of direction is required the car wallows around as if the dampers are shot. Driving at 50mph following other cars around the bends I am constantly fighting to keep the car under control and eventually have to slow down to keep the wife happy. This the first car/trike I have ever owned that I cannot drive quickly with any confidence.
I have checked the tire pressures and the toe in is set to zero which I understand gives best results. I will be taking it easy until the comfort kit is installed and hopefully I will then be able to enjoy the potential of the car.
Is this typical or is there something wrong which I should see the dealer about now and not wait until the service is due. Can you, do you drive your M3 as if you stole it? Most of the videos I have seen of the car being driven in anger are in a different league to mine.

I personally found the comfort kit transformed the handling for me , my driving style and the roads I normally drive on giving me a great confidence boost for 'faster driving' whether on B roads or motorways.
I havnt had the confidence to 'lift a wheel' like the vets do , but believe that a matter of time , acquired skill and opportunity.
My advice is have your front pressures a bit higher than recommended ( I was flexing mine into the mudguards on fast corners at normal pressure ) and wait for the kit.

+1 on the comfort kit - it helps stabilise the car on bumpy roads which leads to more speed more safely.

+ another 1 re the tyre pressures - I've gone up from 22 to 24psi on the fronts and it does seem to reduce the understeer and sharpen up the front end. I'm planning to try 26 psi next.

I havnt gone as high as 26 on the front yet - be interested on your impressions Chris.
I had the rear at 25 yesterday at Prescott ( normally low 20's for no good reason ) and was hoping I could get more tail drift going but it didnt seem to want to happen.
I was however burning more rubber on take off than usual, twice had a third gear wheel spin from the start line , so might drop it back down a few next time.

I will double that and raise you. The comfort kit (I hate that name!) has transformed this car. The Addition of the Blockley tires has had an even more profound effect. I've raised the pressure to 25 lb and like it. These tires do not mush around on the corners. They hold there shape and track. These tires are car tires. The Avons are sidecar tires. I personally think they were, and still are, a bad choice.

Out of the box mind was almost undrivable, it had the panic button well and truly pressed on more than one occasion. In fact I started to think what the hell have I bought here and started asking myself some very searching questions as to weather to bail out or not.

Then I got the tape measure out and had a serious look at the front end.

To cut a long story short, I dropped the ride height 30mm, fitted the Spax dampers, set 8 clicks from max at the front and 10 ar the rear.
Toe zero degrees
25psi front and rear

This is now a completely different car to drive and more like what I expected.

The cherry on the cake I hope will be the Empire kit which is on order as I write.

Sounds like the Blockleys are also a worthwhile upgrade.

Would I buy it again? With out a doubt yes., but I just wish the 1000or so development engineers (us) had been told up front what to expect.

You can buy the wheel for £178.00 and they also sell the Blockley's

I fancy buying a spare wheel and mounting on a rack. not sure the boot lid is strong enough however.

They came from my dealer in New York state where I purchased the car. They have standing orders on Blockleys to replace tires on the very older rigs driving around.

I think Coker Tire in Chattanooga carry the Blockley brand, it's worth a trip just to visit their shop and museum
