Peter, you lost your prawn!! I was 2 weeks from the radar because of a nice holiday to Italy, Lombardia and Tuscany! Experienced the Mille Miglia and the good italian food. I now understand why Gambalunga lives at lake Como.
BTW: my Morgan has its original doorhinges from 1990, and not much wear...!

I have the same problem on a 2009 +4. First noticed at about 6,000 miles. I took the doors off and took the hinge pins out. There was noticeable wear on one side of the pins so on installation rotated the pins 180 degrees and swapped top with the bottom pin. Also greased the pins well before installation. I am now at 10,000 miles and the wear is starting to show again. I haven’t taken the pins out again so I do not know if the pins have rotated back to the original position or I have more wear. The problem with replacing the pins with ones made of a harder material would be the hinges would wear not the softer pins and the pins are easy and hopefully cheap to replace. If you are going to take the doors off just make sure you protect the wing with some rag or suchlike just to stop the door from swinging back once you have removed the retaining strap. As others have said removing the doors is an easy job and with the hinges off the pins are easy to remove.

Jeff,

I'm confused here: your car is about the same aage as mine yet the hinges you describe couldn't be more different. After 22K miles there is no wear.

When I took the hinges off to seperate the plates from the pin I had to make a drift from a nail and drift out the pin: they took some force.
Both plates and pin seem to be made from stainless steel, possibly a marine grade as there is no magnetic response. Polishing the plates showed they are very hard.

The only logical conclusion is that Morgan has hinges from two sources, one uses hard high nickel "316" trainless, the other a softer grade.

But still very odd.

Aldermog was in the care of the factory from day 1 untill the factory employee who purchased her from MMC sold her to Williams.

So if the hinges are not OEM the factory sourced them and fitted them.
Curious...

But then the Mirrors are also not "standard".....!
