Morgan advice needed please.....
On my 2009 Morgan 4/4 a couple of times I’ve forgotten to turn the headlights off, fortunately I’ve discovered this after an hour hence haven’t yet been caught out with a flat battery. There is no warning buzzer on my car to notify me when I leave the car, is this normal? When I look at the fuse box it does have a 5 amp fuse listed as dashboard buzzer, so does this mean my buzzer is not working? Or do Morgan’s simply not have one?
If they don’t I’m thinking of rigging one up as a precaution so has anyone done this?

If you think about it there are no door switches to tell the car you are getting out so a buzzer is not an option. My 2008 +4 switches the headlights off when the ignition is off so as I have replaced the side lights with leds leaving them on is no big deal. I am a bit surprised that your later car doesn't do the same.

It can be a bit of a pain, I left mine on last weekend, fortunately someone else spotted it and they weren't on for more than hour or two. Like DaveV I have converted to LEDs in the wing lights to reduce current draw.

I think the only real answer is to be a bit more disciplined about switching off and have a mental checklist to go through.

Thanks guys, didn't consider door switches would need to be a crucial component for this to work. I still might look at rigging up a buzzer to stop me being stranded. A simple one which connects to the lights and something that goes off when the engine is turned off (E.g. windscreen wipers)might be an option.

On my 2009 Roadster the headlights go off as son as the ignition is off. Sidelights stay on.

They're relayed to the ignition circuit which is also simple to do on the older cars.

On my Alfa, and most Italian cars, all lights go off when the ignition is turned off and I am accustomed to always leave the lights on. I have been caught out with the Morgan on one occasion because the side lights were on all day.

I would like to work out a relay system that turned off all lights when the lights are switched to headlights but allowed the side lights to stay on if the switch was set to side lights only. I suspect this may require that the switch itself is modified.

Any ideas anyone?

Stuff a relay to the ignition circuit on the complete lighting circuit. Then run a live feed to the side light circuit with a switch in it so that you can control them separately. I can't remember how old your car is but not all the switches are used on my dash.
