Extract from

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/225675/the_100mpg_fuel_busters.html

"....comply with the European Commission’s plans to impose an average 120g/km limit on the model ranges of all firms selling cars across the Continent by 2012".

Won't that cause MMC a teensy bit of a problem?

Various manufacturers including porsche / ferrari are already getting out of this - it's only really going to apply to the big manufacturers I think..

Rules apply to volume manufacturers so Morgan should be okay.

Some talk about considering whole life effect so this would favour Morgan. Seems stupid that you can have a low emission car that lasts 2 years before it goes in the bin eg Kia and this okay as opposed to higher emission car that lasts 20 years which isn't confused2

The proposal is for an AVERAGE emission across the range. All MMC need to do is say they're making the LifeCar and they should be ok.

And since they're hand-built, in theory Morgan can build a working example (or more) far quicker than other manufacturers who would have to invest in huge amounts of retooling.

No, it's the other manufacturers who have to worry, not Morgan.
