Have had the call - car now mended and sitting back at the dealers awaiting collection.
Oil leak was the rear crank seal, but the bevel box issue is unknown as it's been back on the production line for a new box to be fitted, along with belt & pulley etc.
Here's hoping for more than a few thousand miles now..
