Are you sitting comfortably ... Maybe it was all the war movies on TV on the 70 year anniversary of D Day. As a M3W pilot, and a fan since childhood of warbirds, I'm drawn to the movies about flying. There's always a scene in a pub after a sortie where everyone in the squadron gathers at the pub. Much like on TM. An electronic pub, if you will. Much like a pub, you can expect a smile and a healthy handshake. Maybe some ribbing and a slap on the back. Some wit, knowledge shared, a good time had by all. In the movies, there's always a full pint by an empty chair, for those that won't be coming. As a former arm of my governments foreign policy and combat vet, I've seen empty chairs. So have others of us. We see it now in a less permanent way on TM. Still tugs a bit ... On TM, our losses are due to friendly fire. A broken frame, BB, compensator, locked up rear sprocket. This is not combat. We've posted our photos and all appear to be persons of the world. We've labored for the opportunity to have ... diversions. Some four wheeled, some two, some both. We like a drive in the country ... Agatha Christie enters my vision of this scene in my head. There are chalked 'X's' over some of the faces that are our photos. There is a chalked 'only these are left' under the photos. My photo is now chalked ... We're being picked off. By friendly fire. The percentage is astounding. We're dropping like flys ... something is very wrong. Self destruction is not the signature of a 'Premium Marque'. Got in the que 04AUG12, took delivery of 'Mosquito' on 20JUN13. Almost one year on, 1739 miles. On Saturday, 14JUN14, was going to Mods vs Rockers with my M3W. It was not to be. I believe by what I've learned here and the clatter I heard, my compensator has gone to lunch ... my dealer will certainly sort and I will miss 2-3 weeks of our too short summer. A friend of mine is no stranger to premium autos. BMW, MB. He has a strong preference for but no current ownership of Lotus, Jaguar, et all ... When I told him I was buying a Morgan, his eyes became all glassy and he damn near genuflected. What do I tell my friend ? What would you ? You can't kill a squadron ?   Tally Ho !

sadly we are dropping like flies. Low mileage cars too.
Ginger bought it and he wasn't even behind enemy lines. In real life the actor who played Lord Flasheart has gone west.

Enjoyed reading the post, loved the analogy but sorry to hear you've got an issue with your 'bird'. Hope it gets fixed sooner, rather than later; like you, our window of summer isn't very long and thus each and every sunny day is precious.

The main difference here is that it seems to be the MMC taking the flak rather than the pilots.

Love the picture Mr S and also the reference to Spitfires by JTL. I cannot imagine the frustration and disappointment many of the TM M3W club must be feeling! Having recently met one owner (a TMer) and heard some of the issues he has been dealing with, it really brought it home.  Lets hope that MMC and their dealers really work hard to solve the individual problems.

In fairness to MMC, I think they are doing their best - now, but I'm not sure that was always the case? We were all hoping that the revisions to the 2014 car would sort out the issues, we know that is not quite the case, but it is at least an improvement, however it is quite understandable that owners of earlier cars should feel a bit sore and hard done by, especially having to pay even more to get bits that work better than the ones that were supplied.
In Britain, I am sure that the Sale of Goods Act covers what is going on, and I rather suspect that where an owner has got serious, the factory may have given in to their demands, on the understanding that nothing is published, after all if the flood gates are opened up, it could put the Three Wheeler company into liquidation, although due to some forethought, The Morgan Motor Co. is unlikely to be affected.
Has any manufacturer ever launched a model with so many inherent and serious problems?

If the Spitfire aircraft was a M3W we'd all be speaking German now.  Kannst Du das bitte mal ins Deutsche übersetzen
