Interesting article.

A few guys are reporting a vibration just below 3,000 rpm which doesn't seem to be there with the "Classic" compensator.

So is the Centra unit replacing one problem with another or unmasking something else?

Having read this post earlier , I thought I'd see if mine has this vibration next time I was out . I've just got back from a quick 20 mile trip and there's no sign of it with mine .

The problem with things such as vibration, it's level is subjective and dependent upon the individual..?

HJP, does yours have the NVH kit fitted? Mine doesn't and I wonder whether this makes a difference?

Interesting point Simmo , mine does have the NVH kit , I think it has to be fitted with the 2014 chassis .

I have been reading this thread with interest as I have been thinking about having the Centra drive unit fitted at the next service as I am on my second "classic" compensator.

But to be honest when it is pumped full of high pressure grease there is no knocking, backlash or excessive vibration, in fact it is as quiet as a mouse, and will quite happily drive at 2000-2200rpm in 4th gear.

So I think I'll stock up on grease cartridges and stick with it, if it aint broke etc. etc.

Good idea - DOOpo - grease is a lot cheaper!!

Mine did not have that option - an earlier sealed unit:(((

I was wondering the same thing.

Also with all that grease, could the grease throw the balance off if it's to one side of the cmpensator?
