Why not just fit some binnacle mount speakers on the shelf behind the seats? Quick and easy. Also, though I have a stereo radio/CD and speakers in the front, I have actually used a hands-free standalone bluetooth unit in my 4/4 with acceptable results. I just clipped it to the leather door pocket by my right elbow, and could hear and speak perfectly well as long as I didn't accelerate too hard!

Our company rule (and that of the clients is simple). Engine on, phone off.

Our company rule (and that of the clients is simple). Engine on, phone off. I wish it were so here, but the UK Business Culture is that people are "available". I hate talking on the phone whilst driving and mostly I'll say "I'm in the car and will call you back as soon as I can".

I got something looking very similar from e-bay. The performance is mediocre to say the least. Fine sat at home but in the Mog not very good at all. It is great at my end but the other party complains of low volume from the throat mike. I have looked at other (much more expensive) throat mikes but not had the guts to take the plunge. I suspect you get what you pays for. Conversely I bought a pair of Sena blue-tooth m/c helmet mikes for the M3W ( http://www.sena.com/product/product/smh10/). These have a boom mike and are good for 55mph or so; "okay-ish" at 65; and useless above. They are great for helmet-to-helmet communication (over half km) and okay (not hi-fi, but then neither are my ears these days) for listening to MP3 on the phone. Both you and passenger can listen to the same music. There is a near-identical non-helmet version that I expect to have the quality ( http://www.sena.com/product/intercoms/sph10/). I have debated getting one for the odd times we are out in both the 4/4 and the 3-wheeler.

The throat mike sounds ideal.
At the moment I have to pull over and stop for an incoming call.
Positively Edwardian!

I played around with throat mikes years ago when I was building helmet to helmet communication systems. I used a soft cloth strap with a little rubber foam strip for stiffening and a velcro fastener. It was worn like a dog collar and worked perfectly. I never put it into production as I ceased making the units when cheap Asian made intercoms came on the market.

Why not use Bluetooth speaker(s) with a smart phone or Ipod . Transportable and no need to make holes in your Morgan's panels.

I got the ebay item listed in the post yesterday.
I took the S2 into the office today. A34 up to the M4, M4 Newbury to Reading. Top down for the wonderful day. I may have briefly exceeded the legal posted limit by a small amount for very short sections of the journey as the traffic was light.
I plugged it directly into my iPhone 5s and it worked fine. Simple 2.5mm socket connection, no bluetooth fluffing around. This did not however result in it silencing my radio/music from the Becker when a call was placed. A bluetooth headset does this.
I phoned a few of the colleagues to test it.
It was quiet until I adjusted where it was positioned on my neck. I did have to speak reasonably loud (images of Dom Jolly) I could hear them well through the earpiece It was comfortable on my neck and in my ear As it was only in one ear I did not feel distracted whilst driving, well less than the call ! Easy to slip on and off. Cable was a little short but I have a suction dashboard mount so it was fine. Easier to hold on my head than a bluetooth thing when I am moving my head to scan over shoulder and around the road. Sometimes my Jawbone starts to dislodge when I am fast scanning in town and motorway. This is distracting at a bad time. Volume of the earphone was okay.
Feedback from the other caller was that it was generally pretty good, better than the Jawbone. Background noise was not an issue. As long as I spoke clearly and a little loud they were happy.
I don't promote this to say you should be on the phone whilst you are driving, that is your decision. There are times when I won't answer the phone. The A34/M4 drag I travel does not tend to be taxing and leaves the few remaining cycles to deal with a call. I advise them I am driving and may go local at points, most people give latitude for this.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
