April 2011. Peeled almost before my eyes. From the sound of the posts on this thread, the replacement ones are not peeling, perhaps I'll ask for them to be changed at the next service. I hadn't bothered hitherto, as I assumed the same thing would happen with the replacements.

Peter why not do what I did I have a tin of paint in the garage that I keep to touch up the mog. I removed the badge then removed all the paint and painted it Red instead of black put several coats on and waxed it down to a smooth surface . It blends in with the mog. That was years ago and not a bit came off.  I thought I'd try and see when the badges started to lose paint. I suspect that they changed suppliers.
It is a minor thing but a significant indicator that within the factory there are people who just don't care, and have no pride.
Please copy the next part of my post and add yours in the same format.

Agree with the way to fix the badge, but i think this issue is why the factory did not change the supplier and replace the faulty badges at the expense of the original suppliers, the badges were/are not fit for purpose?

Mine rear badge peeled after 3 months, I got a replacement under warranty but haven't fitted it yet. Front badge is ok so far.
As stated previously on another thread, the reason for the peeling is that the chrome finish has not been prepared prior to enamel so that it bonds to it.

Deano, I have just lifted a bit of 'Enamel' from my Anniversary badge and holding it in tweezers , lit it, It burns, as i thought it is plastic / resin, therefore it is not traditional enamel. I think this is the problem with adhesion, plastic sticking to chrome in an exterior environment, with temperature changes and very dissimilar materials. All thats holding in the resin is the chrome framing or gravity.
