just checked and Aldermog has 4 leaf springs, it seems the S2 Roadsters do.
It is interesting that John's S1 running board to road gap is similar to Aldermog and 2cm less than you measure for your Roadster. I'm not sure what this means!

Some more measurements:
From the top of rear tyre to top of inside of wheel arch is 8cm, with 16" wheels and low profile tyres.

From the lower edge of wheel arch to centre of the wheel nut is 35.3cm

I can barely get 2 fingers between the bottom edge of the wheel arch and the flat of the tyre.

But how often does it bang hard?
Compare your gap to the gap in the photos above - (MrsW is only 8 stone wet through, so doesn't make it sink much).

If you do decide to go for new, remember that I went for 4 seater springs. But I don't know if Roadster springs are a different spec, so ask.

I can get 4 fat in the gap on mine.
Tyres at 205 60 on 15 inch alloys.
Can't see the number of springs in drive as the alloys don't give a clear view like wires.

Another reason not to have alloys...........

I've become quite converted to them. I think it is the ease of cleaning.

Perhaps Chunky, or someone who has access to the information, could post the factory standard ride heights for the various models --i.e distance from chassis rail to ground with standard tyres at 24psi

This would then save a lot of "is it or is it not shot??"

Gaps and dimensions are somewhat arbitrary on a Morgan. Unless there is a physical issue and something bottoms somewhere it shouldn’t I expect the answer would be the springs are fine.
