Yes, a wise precaution.

Have you decided on an escape route out of England yet Mario?

Hi Paul. It's all still very undecided, I wanted to get the M3W next Monday July 28th but apparently the factory is closed that week (and the week before). Although the car is apparently almost completed, there is no time to sort the registration process from now to mid July, so I'll need to wait for the week that starts Monday August 4th.

This will mean that my voyage home (and the time I have available to do it) will need readjusting. Despite the uncertainty, the swmbo really wants to use this trip to visit Ireland if that becomes possible within our time constraints, so I guess we will check the ferries available and will probably leave England to the West, not to the South.

I have an Irish friend that mentioned, sometime ago, that Malvern isn't too far to catch a ferry in "Holyhead", but I never checked the options we have available for an "Ireland" trip.

Sorry I can't be more informative, but I'm really unable to plan ahead at this moment.

Got my Spax adjustables for the back end late this afternoon, bolted them in, spent about a minute bouncing on the back end adjusting them till they felt "about right" and went for a run...sorted.
Don't claim that they are fine tuned but at the moment they feel slightly firmer and slightly better damped than the standard units but retain a decent amount of wheel travel. They ride over bumps a bit better than standard and no sign, in one short run admittedly, of fading damping when running at a decent speed on properly bumpy roads.

Well now I've had the opportunity to put some more miles on my car I'm afraid I have to agree with Calum . The Suplex fronts are fine but the rears just don't do the job .

When my car had it's new chassis I also got the latest uprights , so the front is completely different . It all works really well , there is no bump steer , and although some people have said it has lost some feel , I don't find this at all .

As for the rear , initially after John Stubbs had corrected it to the recommended position I thought it was ok . I think this was due to smooth roads and the fact that it was a vast improvement on the factory rock hard setup . I have tried adjusting the damping , but I feel that the problem is the springs being too stiff . Today after driving 60 miles home on bumpy roads I got out with a numb bum . Several times the seat belts had locked up as I was bounced out of the seat . Accelerating hard down a bump straight road the rear wheel was struggling to put the power down . The adverts do say " a more comfortable ride " , and the Suplex fitting guide states "a good ride has been achieved " due to the progressive rising rate . Something has gone wrong somewhere .

Latest update to the Suplex saga. Now standing at the side of the road with the front left Suplex shock having snapped clean through. Rescue truck on its way and if anyone cares to hear my opinion of Suplex...

Oh dear, Callum, that must've been scary ... was it like what happened to me? Scary stuff, I think you should contact Suplex ASAP. And I will be interested in what follows!

Yes Mario, just the same. Snapped just below the top spring seat. No big dramas as, being on the public road, I wasn't going all that fast so apart from a loud thwack, a bit of a front end wallow and a dive for the ditch on the left, not much happened. Carried on very gently for a short distance to get a sensible place to stop.
Photos will follow.

Very interested to see the pictures and to compare them with my own. Here's what I posted in these forums, but I have plenty more, as detailed as I could get them.
