A technical and practical numpty here, I'm afraid. My 2007 Plus 4, Molly, has her original factory fitted Avon ZV3 195/60R15 tyres on her. I have only done about 15,000 miles in total. I am going to get my local (and fantastic) tyre garage to have a look at them but to my untrained eye, whilst the tread looks fine, some of the sidewalls looked a bit cracked and almost perished. I did do a track day a couple of years ago.
With a Hebridean Adventure not far away, I need to get these checked out and changed if necessary. Any recommendations on the best tyres to fit?

I had a set of 2007 Avons on my Roadster....nearly 3 years old when the factory fitted them on a then new car They had no cracks and had only done 1500 miles or so from new but the carcass between the treads had gone hard soI changed them to ZV5's to match the spare and they work well in both dry and wet. Toyo Proxes get a good write up here.....I couldn't track any down in my slightly wider size and also Vredesteins are often recommended.

I'm running ZV5's and Toyo proxies on my spare set and they are fine, giving a compliant ride.

Two months ago, on my 2005 PLUS 4 (22000 miles) I changed the original YOKOHAMA C Drive by the new YOKOHAMA C Drive 2. The comfort is increased and the steering lighter at low speed. They seem softer and having a good grip, but I don't drive at the limit.
I don't know if it is the best choice. I guess Morgan uses them on the new cars.
Regards 2005 PLUS 4

Next week I hope to pick up some new toyo proxies for my mog 205/60/16 from memory, from Demon Tweeks on offer at the mo at £38.00 something plus the dreaded vat. Cheap or what ? Worth a look ?

Vredestein Sportrac on my +4. Very good ride and grip in dry and wet. Also impressed by Goodyear Efficient Grip on my Fiesta Zetec with a surprising increase in fuel efficiency over the Continental Sports. I thought that was all b......t! Titus

Sounds like a good buy to me especially compared to the prices quoted for the OEM Avon CR6ZZ fitted to my car £ 237 EACH somehow I don't think I'll be staying with them
