When it is going, it is fun to drive and the bare figures do not tell even half the story, and maybe the 2014 cars are much more reliable, [although I have already heard stories about them], but it doesn't get around the fact that there is a certain percentage of 'early adopters' who are disappointed, as Donaldo has said.

I do hope Morgan can get these little beasts right, their bravery in bringing it to market in the first place deserves success.

I agree with Michael and Redneck. I consider my 3W like a woman. Sometimes cranky, and I make the mistake of trying to understand her, but when it works I feel transported and I can't keep my hands off her. Now what do you call that, can it really be explained?

To be honest, mine is the only 2014 'Mk2' that I know of that has suffered the indignity of a breakdown ride.

Bevel box screeching on overrun, oil leak from rear crankshaft seal and occasional misfire all of which were sorted within a fortnight thanks to the very helpful Team Williams.

Since then several hundred miles of nothing but M3W bliss.

As well as Stringers friend, there is another owner, local to me, whose 2014 car is not well, but we are not sure whether to attribute it to the build or the dealer who serviced it, if the dealer, then Morgan are exonerated.

I do feel however that the 2014 car is a giant step forwards and is what the original should, or, would have been, with the development it should have had.

I haven't done as many miles as I hoped since getting the new chassis fitted , which along with the other upgrades has more or less transformed my 2012 car to a 2014 one . I've done around a thousand miles which I guess is enough to make a judgement .

But I have to agree Paul , it is a giant step forward , it now drives like a lively ,tight well balanced little sports car . I even find the cooling fan strangely reassuring when stuck in traffic . I feel much more confident that it's going to respond in a predictable way , my only concern is that I don't need any more points on my licence !

I think that IF early car owners pre 2014 are prepared to persevere and fit 2014 upgrades then the car will be pretty well ok.Its a long - and potentially expensive journey but it is possible. scared

m3boy,

I am a case in point. The factory did all three upgrades and changed to a Centa, car is still broken down and being recovered from Italy. I spent a lot of money and put great faith in the factory.

I just feel that early adopters should be rewarded in some way for their patience, investment in time and money and also for bringing technical solution to the shortcomings of this underdeveloped toy car sold at a very high price.

As a 2012 (Mark I) owner, I will add that just last week I turned over the 10,000 mile mark.

1 - Aside from a bum Cycle Electric alternator/rectifier zero engine problems. Harley-Davidson unit has performed flawlessly!
2 - Original compensator still works. No problems except when lugging. Don't lug.
3 - 'Comfort kit' added. Vast improvement! Hate the name and the up-charge for the privilege. This was worthy of a recall if anything was.
4 - Rear sprocket and belt replaced due to excessive wear and noise. Already lined up for the second replacement under warranty. In this I feel like a Beta tester.

As you can see from the miles, I have not let this slow me down in enjoying the car. Yesterday was a phenomenally glorious day in Vermont and we put on over 200 miles on these beautiful curvy mountain roads with stops at the various brew pubs...

No matter what, I feel I received my money's worth! This car has been a hoot to drive!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
