Graeme,

wrong again I have the courage of my convictions the car is very much for sale. I don't have the bank balance to take MMC to court.

You sir are a Charlatan.

Donald,

The intention is not to offend and apologies if you think I resemble the remark you made.

I am actually of very good farming stock and tend to think eveyone should think and act the way I was brought up.

Tact and diplomacy are for diplomats, not for farmers.

I wish you well in selling your car, and hope you can turn your funds to a 4/4.

I know how you guys feel, I purchased a Leyland P76 when they were first released in Australia, even big companies produce a whole line of lemons.

Regards to everyone in the thread.

Respectfully, I would apologize for all your pain and suffering having to endure these threads, but I don't believe you could be further from the truth when you say you are sick of the whining... for a fellow that doesn't have a M3W or associated problems, money or deceit involved, never seen a M3W and read enough here to know it is a "bad investment" to the point of being sick about it, it begs the question why you are still trolling this sub-category or further yet, opening threads that pertain to the technical shortcomings of the M3W? Why not just stick to the happy go lucky threads? Admittedly, they are getting fewer and further between but they do surface from time to time.

I take it from your comments that you see a vast difference between not telling the truth and telling a lie...maybe a geographic thing, the way you were raise or just what you've become.

And your advice to the M3W issues is virtually the same as Morgan's philosophy, pretend to be a man of integrity and using my long-standing reputation while misleading the potential buyer, who obviously trusts me enough to engage in business, into believing he is buying a fit for use product long enough until I can put his money in my pocket and then brush him off like I've done nothing wrong? Hell, if I'm going to go that far, I may as well tell him I'm going to provide him a warranty to circumvent future problems on the unlike event they should arise to go along with his new M3W that's no good either.

Even though Bernie Madoff ripped people off for billions in his ponzi scheme, he did give a little back to his investors here and there to squash rumors and give the appearance of being trustworthy and legit. I suspect he gave back to those in closest proximity to him that could cause him the most immediate damage or reveal his true colors.

In the past Morgan have proved the reliability of their new cars through competition, the aero 8 was a good example and Charles was always a keen supporter of this. Clearly this didn't happen with the M3W for some reason.

Aldermog is considering a 2013 model. As far as I am aware, it is only pre-2013 M3Ws that have suffered from cracked chassis.

The reason being that the M3W falls into something of a deeply grey area between the jurisdictions of the ACU and the MSA. Racing them at the moment really can't happen though certain hill climb and sprint events can albeit with some strange quirks in the regulations regarding Nomex versus leathers, carrying of passengers and use of seat belts.

Morgan put a prototype car on show to gauge market reaction. It was amazing.

Mr C Morgan then made an announcement at the Geneva Motor Show committing Morgan to a first order date. That date left Morgan insufficient time to finish the engineering and run a car hard for 6 months. With the benefit of hindsight Morgan should have delayed the launch, but having seen CM in action I doubt there was anyone at the factory able to do that.

Why am I looking at buying into the M3W world? When the M3W was first announced I wanted one. I still want one and thanks to Callum my manager, A.K.A Caroline is also now convinced.

Sadly the used M3W market is "soft". A number of dealers will not take used ones as part exchange unless they sold it and even then only if they have a customer lined up. One reputed dealer won't sell the car, they will only act as a broker. Why? Because the law requires dealers to offer a warranty and I suspect they can't get the M3Ws underwritten.

So by the end of the winter there will be disgruntled owners wanting out at any cost and I suspect cars will be offered at £20K or less. That is too good an opportunity to miss and I'm willing to to take that risk.

As to the chassis cracking, I'll only buy a repaired or replaced one. But they may still crack, who knows? But should the worst happen I have a cunning plan that involves mating a 4/4 front end to a M3W!

I am sure MMC have a very clever lawyer lurking in the background advising them on what to do and what to say. Don't admit anything in public as this might result in litigation. They are probably hoping they can ride the storm and in a couple of years time, everybody would have forgotten their problems or sold the vehicle on.
BMW have done the same on their N47 engine even though thousands of engines are failing due to timing chain issues. Its the way the industry works, unless the authorities become involved and force a recall.

I feel sorry for the owners who have problems, it reflects badly on the UK as well as MMC. Good luck in sorting it all out and hopefully you will enjoy the M3W, eventually.

Neil,

You are 100% right.

MMC and M3W Ltd will have product liability insurance. Their insurers will, through their lawyers, be controlling how this game is played out.

There will be unhappy customers who feel hard done by. I feel sorry for them, especially those who had a dream and the dream turned into a nightmare. But Business is a hard place and it works on survival of the fittest. If Morgan's survival means a few hundred lost customers then so be it. In the long term it doesn't matter.
