I have often mentioned to people the usefulness of self amalgamating tape and they tend to look at me blankly and say they have never heard of it.

So for all those who travel, and sometimes need an emergency repair to a hose, carry a reel in your tool box. Its not expensive and gets you back on the road very quickly. Give the name a google and see what I mean

Happy motoring.

Just remember to stretch it before winding it on, otherwise it does not work.

If using it as a hose repair, slightly better durability is gained by use of conventional insulating tape around the leak, and then wrapping the hose and that in self-amalgamating tape.

I use thin strips to form custom elastic bands to hold cables on bicycles.

Peter, I got my roll from Screwfix in the UK currently 3.99GBP for 10m x 19mm.
It is the tape that satellite installers use for waterproofing the cables.

I know 3M make good stuff, but £50 is a bit OTT.
