Well it's the shingles making me poorly...

The only thing that would put me off is the salt.

Or some silly sod running into me... Lots don't have a clue how to drive in the stuff.

Now, once again, back on Monty's topic - just backed Baby Blue (aka Katy, aka Morgana) into the garage after fine evening's drive of 70-odd miles. Out again tomorrow, and then it may be hood up as the weather deteriorates over the weekend.

About 2 winters ago I had taken the Sport on the commute 45mls to Exeter on a fabulously crisp morning roofless a great journey. However at around 1600 they were forecasting snow for Exeter(roof on) so at about 1700 I departed and by the time it took to do the 5mls from the office to Haldon Hill the police had closed it and it remained closed for about 4 hours. There was only about 3" of soft snow and the Sport had been very predictable in it's handling but the normal idiots had ensured that no one else could get through by blocking every lane. This was the event that got National TV coverage at the time. It was plenty warm enough in the car too.
The main pita was various line managers calling up to ensure you were o.k. about every 20 Mins. I let my wife know where I was as dinner would be a bit late for us and a few updates during the evening.

I have been known to venture up on Dartmoor to enjoy a topless crisp picturesque scene of freshly fallen snow and have photographs on Faceache of this shared with other Morgan Groups in Europe where they do similar in Switzerland and Germany. As long as you are reasonable with the right foot they are predictable and useable in all weathers IMHO.

Monty - in due course let us know what you buy (with photos, of course ). Enjoy the decision-making process! And remember - Another dealer said a new 4/4 would not be able to cope with daily use (eg 25 miles a day every day plus half a dozen big trips a year; total annual mileage about 8,000) and would wear out very quickly as they're pretty fragile really, especially in relation to chassis, wood, body etc. - this is simply rubbish!

Monty - welcome to TM. Although I don't use my 4/4 Sport as an everyday car I can concur what a great car it is. What I do know is that if I didn't have the need for a daily vehicle to shift stuff & tow stuff around I would happily use it as a daily driver.

UK allergic reaction to winter tyres is the answer!

There again invincible morons in Chelsea tractors who don't have a clue is another!

They make a huge difference even when it isn't snowing over summer tyres when the weather cools.

I tried backing into a snow covered track off the sealed road to take a photo and discovered that standard tyres an reverse gear on snow gets you nowhere. Winter tyres are, no doubt, an entirely different thing.
