Bugger, I said I was never going to get involved in a M3W discussion again, I just cant help myself.
First the usual disclaimer, " I do not own a M3W, I have never driven a M3W and I have never seen a M3W in the flesh"

The early discussions I saw here used to have lots of people discussing the issues with the M3W and some 4 wheelers offering consolations and advice. It then seemed to go downhill into a them and us (3 wheelers Vs Morgan tradionalists), then it just got bitter.

I understand the dissapointment that people feel, when what they recieved was not what they purchased, but it seems that everyone wants Morgan to turn their 2012 purchase into a 2014 model for free. Do we expect that with any other vehicle, regardless of the amount of design and engineering that went into it.

Perhaops the other 95% are happy to approach the dealer in a different way, or take a different approach to obtain results and are still genuinely happy with their purchase.

I still refer back to my Mazda CX7, nearly 40% of these have had either Variable Valve failure or Turbo Issues since they were released in 2007, and only in the US was there any action taken to try and fix the issue. Mazda in most countries was not interested, the VVT failing had the ability to cause the motor to seize.

I'm sorry Steve, I think you are wrong on virtually all counts, and whilst I rarely counter a post like yours, I feel that it is necessary to comment.

We've met and you seem like a reasonable guy, your post here have pretty well all been constructive, but just occasionally you come out with something really odd, and that seems to be out of character.

I really don't get the feeling that our 4 wheeled friends here are in any way being anything else but supportive, and we are all practical men [and the occasional lady] who understand the car and its' foibles, this doesn't mean we are happy to pay out even more money to have the car put into the condition it should have arrived in.

In dealing with what we perceive to be a small friendly company, rather than a faceless conglomerate like Mazda, who Graeme mentioned, we rather expect a slightly more positive service, and there are many who don't feel they are getting it, especially people who are hours away from a dealer. For many of the UK owners, things are merely a little inconvenient, but for others they are just downright impossible. I cannot even imagine having to take my car on a 6 or 8 hour trip to a dealer!

When we have the luxury of a forum to compare experiences, it is inevitable that when a common problem is identified, it will be discussed and where possible request made to the manufacturer to sort it out, we are customers after all, and have paid a lot of money for the pleasure, and no-one likes to be taken for granted.

So, like Hugh, I'm still not really sure what you are saying, is it that you feel we are all complaining for the sake of it, or that we are not being supported by other Morgan owners or that we should be enjoying our £30,000 [$50,000] plus, toys, and not be complaining in the first place? Maybe non of these, and I completely misunderstood what you were saying.

You don't have to be sorry for disagreeing with my ramblings, Paul. I'm just a very insecure M3W owner at the moment, looking for enlightenment..

Maybe I should take a holiday..

That'll be it, I've just come back from 10 wonderful days in SE Cornwall, and I'm totally refreshed and laid back, more to the point, so is my wife - if she isn't happy, no-one's happy! That may be a familiar refrain in many families?

I also am an outsider looking in. As much as I love the concept of the M3W, I love odd ball vehicles and love the sound of a great V-Twin roaring down the road, but I'm not sure if a M3W is in my future.

That said, I think that if the many issues the M3W guys are having were fit and finish, rough ride, poor steering geometry etc, I feel that after reading all the posts here, many would be more than willing to pay for upgrades to bring their M3W up to current standards and improving ride and style a bit.

BUT... what they have are cars that are not fit to hit the road with any amount of confidence that they won't have to be trailered back home. These problems are not cosmetic or comfort, but down right reliability issues; let alone what might happen if a BB locks up and car loses control and someone gets hurt or worse.

So as Steve said, if he had the opportunity to go for a 1k mile jaunt for a long weekend, he would just love to take his brand new 2014 M3W, but out of fear of being rescued on the road rather than driving back home, he would NOT take the M3W on that trip.

That is just not Steve's feelings, but probably a lot more on here than would admit to it.

It's a sad state of affairs that one would spend that much money for a presumed to be fit for purpose vehicle and not have the confidence to drive it more than 100 miles from home.

I don't think it's too much for anyone here to ask that Morgan take care of the chassis issues on the earlier units and then get a dependable comp and BB, I think most here would be ecstatic and overjoyed. They could then take on the nit picky items and gladly pay for upgrade or newer options etc.

Well I have avoided commenting on the M3W general situation until now. I first came across the first one at a factory visit 3.5 years ago and it looked great and I thought what a fantastic idea for Morgan to recapture their history and create a fun M3W. I have watched and listened in the wings and heard many sorry tails of regularly failing M3W's with some dis-belief. I sympathise with those of you suffering from this greatly, if it was me I would find the situation, frustrating, stressful, and I think I would be pretty angry.

All I hope is that the factory get the issues sorted sooner than later and help you all to a happy place, after all Morgan is the Driving Heart!
