I bought mine from Moto Guzzi agent, a ENI product. recommended by Gambalunga as a solution to the rare gearbox noises they get, I think it is 50/140

I used Royal Purple 85-140 synthetic gear lube mixed 60/40 with Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.

I over filled the box up to the breather . It dripped a little out the first couple of outings as the oil heated and expanded but not a drop since. Mine was noticibly quieter using this combination.

I changed my Bevel Box oil today and it was a complete non-event. Measured about 15oz (450ml) on the way out, completely cold, as normal looking as any "oil" I've seen. My M3W dates from Nov 2013, so relatively "new" just before the 2014's.

I changed the bevel box oil yesterday at 2800 miles. I bought Morris XFX 80W/140 LSD oil from Classic Oils. Did the whole job from underneath. After a run to warm it I jacked the car up & drained the oil. Very black & did not seem that much came out. refilled with diesel fuel through the level plug hole & let the engine turn the wheel for a brief time. Drained & repeated with diesel. Filled with Morris oil again letting engine turn the wheel. Drained & refilled with Morris oil.
The drained oil was still dark so I'll put some miles on & do it again without the diesel. On a run today the box was maybe a bit quieter.
I bought a suction/discharge pump from Classic oils but useless for the job as the hose will not go in the level plug hole nor would the spout on the oil container. I used my small trigger pump oil can for filling. Take care not to loose the dowty seal off the level plug.

Just did the bevel box oil today as well. What came out was still reasonably golden with no debris on the magnetic pick up. Re-filled with Red Line 80W140 using a Laser oil syringe - had to stick a short length of thinner hose into the end of the supplied hose to get into the fill port. Could have done with heating up the new oil a bit to get it to flow a bit easier but no big deal, will know better in future though in reality probably will just repeat the same mistake!
No discernable change in bevel box noise or tone afterwards.

There was just a tiny amount of debris on the magnet on mine. I don't know if the oil was changed at the first service.

Agree - just finished 1600 km in 4 days in the Norwegian mountains. First time in 2,5 years with a silent BB.

That's a great endorsement Stig, always good to know what works and what isn't gong to work.
