Well two side by side probably……...

A lot of cyclists don't even know you are there- as they are wearing earphones-

OK then I guess the term I'm looking for is something like worms can open.
I ride a Harley and drive ( snort snort ) a M3W. Both are quite loud, so I switch them off if I can to let horses past for obvious reasons.
What my beef with the horse-riders are the ones who think they are in the donkey-wallopers and ride two abreast with several more behind them all chatting away and because they are in their own little world have absolutely no spatial awareness.
Cyclists - no real beef there except when there is a perfectly wide, sound and expensive cycle path next to the A-road yet they all want to bunch up and take up the whole width of the road, while over-taking they start to wobble around so what to do.

I think the problem is that both cyclists and horse riders are advised that they should ride two a breast so that it forces traffic to slow down and wait for a clear bit of road, instead of squeezing past a single cyclist or rider. I have often wondered at the selfishness of this advice, and the fact that it will and has, caused tremendous resentment towards them.

Everybody should coexist, but be aware of the other person and be polite towards them, and the fact that cyclists and horse riders pay no tax or insurance is just a red herring, to ensure that car drivers are more justified in their criticsim. Sadly this is not the case, but I feel it is up to all of us to be patient with other road users, no matter who they are - even old folk trundling along the middle of the lane on electric scooters!

This is the one that gets me going. Watched an adult pavement cyclist today and what these idiots don't realise is that they are safer on the roads where they have a right of way. On the pavement (which is an offence - Highway Act 1835 [yes, really!], Section 72, Rule 64) they have no such right. They are in big danger from cars emerging from driveways; they have to slow in order to negotiate and cross every side-road on the left; and repeatedly have to adjust their speed to take account of the many obstacles they will find along the pavements. They would make much better (and safer) progress along the roads. I did speak to a local PC about this. He told me they have been trying for years to get it stopped but have now given up. I replied that I didn't realise that the police were allowed this level of discretion...

And as for cyclists wearing helmet cameras and thereby, it seems to me, looking for confrontation...

I believe the issue is that the cyclists are not traceable. There was an issue in the past 3 years or so where we had a group of Stratford upon Avon cyclist barging their way through a street party (with an official street closure), eventhough the cycling club was identifiable with there cycling outfits, no one at the club owned up to taking part in the rabble that rode through the street party. Enough said.

Anyone suffer from Night Cyclists? We get them a lot in our lane, they use super bright led's on their helmets (and i mean super bright, like full beam bobbing headlights) and there are lots of them at once, bit like an alien invasion, must terrify the wildlife, one positive, at least you cannot see the Lycra.

They terrify me...Lycra should only be sold in a certain size, to a certain age group with a certain body shape. Same goes for that running gear Second Skin. Oh I'll also include 1 piece biker leathers. Some of the guys I see at some of the bike meets look like a sausage about to leave it's skin. Eugh
