Having the annual service now.
Has experienced slight shivering in the steering wheel, this season.

The sliding pillar suspension needs an overhaul.
It has done 45000 miles.
Mine has got devol bushings, that will be replaced with oversize brass ones, due to better availability.

So what's normal Lifetime for a front suspension?

Just replaced kingpins to hardchrome ones at 16000 km from new on my roadster.
I am amazed with your 45000 miles.... That must be a record!
Kind regards,
BertR

My 4/4 needed new kingpins at 32,000 miles, also plastic bushes, which I thought was pretty good. Replaced with hard chrome & oversized bronze bushes this year which made a massive, positive, improvement and having sorted out the car for another 30,000 miles decided to sell it. No one said running a Morgan makes sense!

I've just replaced mine after 18000 miles. While you're at it I'd suggest fitting the steering bearings too, as they make a big difference.

How often does everyone grease the sliding pillars?

I'm still on the original 2012 kingpins after 26,000 km. I grease them after every long trip and if they have not been greased recently before a long trip. Longest trip so far without grease has been from Lake Como to Shelsley Walsh and back. Like so many things to do with cars I believe many short trips is harder on wearing parts than one long trip.

I have a compressor and an air driven grease gun so the job is pretty easy and I am sure that the grease is going in.
