In order to prevent the Perspex window being opened from outside, cut a piece of 2mm Perspex about 1cm wide and 13cm long. This can be slotted into the groove in front of the sliding window preventing it from being moved. I drilled a small hole in one end to take a loop of cable tie to facilitate easy removal.

Good solution but a person set on getting in only has to unto the Tenax fastener behind the door and put their arm into the car from behind the window, it is easy to reach the door lock and open the door.

Serious though, on my car the door cannot be opened if it is locked with the key, and the Tenax fastener is most covered by the side screen.

Problem is, if they want to get in, they'll just cut through the roof with a knife..

My widow lock idea is to deter the casual thief. A determined thief can get into any car.

I specified my Roadster without door handles and by accident, this seems to be a pretty effective way of stopping entry, if my experience with passengers is anything to go by! Brian

That's why I normally lock my doors (and glove box) with the key if I'm leaving it parked in public for any length of time Peter.

That should read inches not centimeters.
