Would the drive be able to handle the extra torque, at the moment it seems that some of us have had real problems with what the X-Wedge puts out now.
I read some-where there was a 132 in3 stroker kit. I think it was at Dennis Kirk, I've got quite a fair bit of stuff off them for the bike.

to my knowledge mark reeves has put over 5,000 miles of hard driving on the 128 engine in his test mule and has worked great with the centra and other bits

Yes, he can do easily when you live close to the factory.
For us living far from parts and knowledge, we need to do what we can to keep a standard car running.

I'm getting the Centra Drive fitted to mine after 3 failures of the previous drive. If it's as good as it's alledged then I think Dennis Kirk will be getting some revenue. Found it's cheaper to buy some stuff off them and pay shipping + import than buying in the UK, not for everything just certain items.

Would like to see a 200 or 240 section rear rubber.

Do you agree with mods at least another 40 BHP could be gained?

I doubt you would find room for extra rubber on the back, the factory had to go down from 195 to 185 as it was, to put a wider belt on. Maybe use stickier rubber though?

Is 3 failures of the compensator down to driver [mis] use rather than 3 poor compensators in a row? If you 'lug' the engine at low revs a lot, this will kill the compensator, the handbook recommends keeping the revs over 2750 and that is likely to be the reason.

Stickier tyre at the back will most likely cause terminal understeer, not sure if that would be better than a more loose rear.

I try to keep my engine always at or above 3000 rpm . You can clearly 'feel' it doesnt enjoy being run at lower revs.

I do yes. But I don't think the compensator changes the character of the engine. It is a brutal piece of machinery (I suspect the engineers at Morgan should've been a bit wiser/modest in their engine choice) and it clearly doesn't reach what I would call an engine "perfect tune" ("tune" as in musical melody, not as in "tuning") before 3000 rpm.

From then on, it's a beautiful ride, even in the sound department. And you don't feel that any part of the car is being stressed.

I certainly don't lug the engine....Been riding bikes for the last 30 years, mainly big V-Twins.

Cocerning a larger section on the rear tyre, then if you up the ante on the power-plant and tweak it, then I figured maybe you'd want a bit more rubber on the tarmac to transfer that power.
Just a thought as I had an old springer with a 180 rear, traded it out for a newer one with a 200 rear plus bigger engine and it just felt better, well in my mind. On the same token had a go of my mates Roer with a 240 rear and it was awful, handled like a sausage.
