I was not there, bu I was in Hyde Park - June 1969 to see Canned Heat's free concert.
Magic.

Regarding The Who - the lovely Lady Budster has an interesting history relating to that band!?

ooooh you old hippie Peter.

You should check out what a certain Mr Young has initiated with what was PureTone now renamed to PONO

Hi end mastered digital for the discerning.

I have kept a DVDA/SACD player for the few discs I have one being a 5.1 SACD of dark side of the moon.

I hope The PONO project succeeds

As Mrs Doyle would say "Oh, go on"

Just think; auto, aircon, space for luggage, really comfortable and one exceptionally careful owner!

Aldermog,
A quality classic system. Your kit takes me back to my college days. I was constantly on the upgrade route. As I recall, the ultimate was between Pink Triangle and the LP12. Both too much for me back then. Explored dbx records and ended up converting to CD's as players started to sound less digital. Still have the kit, but now I'm a Spotify convert.

Wow - takes me back to Shrewsbury 1979/80 - spent the night listening to said album in my work colleagues flat "brilliant album " reason why I was there , his Landlady would not let him take "Ladies" back to his room so I used to lend him my house, 400 yds up the road - those really were the days - house cost £16,500 and I had a company car !! - Hillman Avenger - where are you now DFK 197T ? he had one as well , mine red , his a funny light brown colour - about 40 bhp I think - we kept asking for Cortinas but always told too dear...why is it the Co car one is given is never good enough...

The garage contains

Volvo D5 estate 185 BHP

Pink Triangle, Linn, Dunlop, Ariston...all variations on a theme but only Linn has really endured.

I have a load of CDs, they are convenient, as is a digital download through some sort of player, or streamer or network device, but music? I suppose it is but it lacks something.

I looked long and hard at going into the full digital world that Linn and Naim are so behind. But I like to chose a record, or a CD, and play it. Opening a file in a computer? OK, but it isn't the same. No emotion. Listening to the digital streamed music is superficially wonderful, but ultimately unrewarding.

Music is all about emotion. Computers are not. I'll stay as long as I can in the Analogue music world, along with my Analogue Morgan.
