Grockle, welcome! Don't wait!!! If you can find a "good" 2014 (If you don't fiddle, have someone check it out for you) get it now. Someone once said life is short, eat the desert first. That's the way I feel and I've had some of the "usual" problems on my 2012, but I have had so much fun, not only with the car and the crowd it draws--women love it! Since I installed the Empire steering kit the car was transformed from fun to fun, fun, fun.

2012 model. Had all the problems you can have.
Now have a full 2014 spec with a new body on the way courtesy of a range rover up the backside. I have 9500 on the clock and since all the upgrades have been over the moon with the old girl. I too have the occasional knock from the BB.
I am fully in love and am now happy to cover a couple of hundred miles a day or so. I use every day it's not raining. I would echo all the other comments.

Mine's from Oct 2013 and just rolled over 2,000 miles.

It's the perfect antidote to modern life, blowing away cobwebs and putting a smile on the face of you and many of those who look on.

Problems? Rectifier bobbins (replaced myself with Caterham ones) and waiting for a new rear sprocket. Never failed to start, stop or get me to where I wanted to go.

Life is too short for regrets - go ahead and buy one now and enjoy it for what it is.

Oct 13, so nearly a year now and have done 3.5k miles and competed in 2 sprints and 2 hill climbs in that time.
All available mods bought plus new compensator, rear sprocket and new mud guards on warranty. A number of bobbins changed, goes without saying.
Looking forward to more mods as and when they appear. I have been offered the engine upgrades by my dealer, but until the three wheeler club sorts it's classes out for five speeders don't see the point.
I can only repeat the sentiment in the above posts, get in there and do it.

Hi, and thank you all for the warm welcome to TM. It's interesting that our path to this point is a mirror of quite a few of you.
I had initially been disappointed to read of the various issues but have been impressed by the warm enthusiasm and veiled excitement of everyone who has posted comments and ‘I'm back in the fold’
Unless something dramatic happens we will most likely place an order next year when my work/life balance is no longer disrupted by a 220ml commute.
We have notions of burbling around our home in the West Country going nowhere in particular, ploughman's lunch then home and the M3W seems to fit the bill admirably.

What next? Well we plan to hire one for the day. I am 6.2”+ with size 12’s so pedals and shoes will need to be adjusted to suit but we are both looking forward to the adventure..

Please keep the stories coming, good or bad. I am sure there are others cautiously thinking the same as me (us). Remember, you are the pioneers.

Grockle, let me put it like this: I know the record is scratched, but I would buy it again, anyway. *wink wink nudge nudge*

I have had my fair share of problems, but the biggest one was not being able to drive it för so long. (I had a nasty gas leak, spurting, not dripping, and that in it self kept me off the road and then my first dealer never picked the car up as promised and then the new dealer had it for fifty days. It still leaked, by the way...)

This car is fun! For you, your passengers and for anyone watching. One wants to drive it. I miss burbling when I´m not doing it. Good word, by the way.

Test drive it and suffer the consequences!

PS. Mine was built April 2013. Over 4000 miles on it. Grease nipple upgrade, all other parts were on back order, would you believe it?

I am an inch taller than you and take size 13s, so you should be all right provided you wear serious driving shoes, though a lot depends on the dimensions of various components, thigh length in particular.

I am reasonably comfortable behind the wheel, but I found that a spacer to bring the steering wheel closer was essential. There are several available, with different sizes. Mine is 50mm, from Krazy Horse. It took five minutes to fit, it looks like original equipment and it makes a big difference.

Grockle, when you put your order in, make sure to visit the factory to see it being built to take photos. That really adds to the overall purchase experience.

Grockle you might want to ask if they can fit a steering wheel spacer otherwise you may not be able to get your foot off the clutch properly. A 2"x2" batton to raise the front edge of the seat may be useful. Eye protection & ear plugs are recommended. I'm sure you will have a blast if away from dual carriageways.
