This from the MSCC website: The Magazine (History)...............
An intrinsic part of the club has been its magazine. The first magazine appeared in November 1951. ‘Motoring and Morgans’ consisted of seventeen pages of hand typed A4 stapled together with a blue cover. It contained the names of the club officers and a full membership list, reports on the club's first events, notification of RAC recognition, details of future events, technical articles and so on. Obviously the only ads were private ones like “1938 4/4 4 seater, new hood, tonneau, and tyres. Complete re-spray engine and transmission overhaul, the price £395”.
A smaller A5 magazine appeared in 1955. ‘Monthly Miscellany’ was the heading on the first page and gave a clue to the origins of the name of our present day magazine.
In 1960 the magazine was called ‘Miscellany’ and back to A4 size reporting on various events.............
By February 1966 the flat-rad on the cover was replaced with a racing cowled rad, the same as used on the club letterhead.
May 1968 and the magazine is now carrying commercial advertisements, 3 full page and 2 half page. There is much discussion on changing the Club's name. The August issue of that year was largely devoted to the introduction of the Plus Eight at a cost of £1,477-18s-4d.
Spring 1970 and the magazine has shrunk again to A5 size with a white cover sporting the Morgan Wing. This issue contains the results of the referendum on the name change..........

For me, TM is everything that MSCC isn't. I was a member from 2007 until last year when I realised I was getting nothing from it. There is no section really local to me, and I'm not really a "club outing" person. I haven't missed Miscellany, which seemed the same each month (DW's column excepted), same ads, poor articles, racing results that weren't my interest. And no dialogue - this forum is where it happens. And if anyone criticised my "runabout", I would be less inclined than Mrs Budster to keep my counsel... Nigel

MSCC member or not last weekend 2 other TM members and myself meet for a short run and fish and chips out of a bag. Very good day out, I have not been on any jockmog meets as most are mid week. I know jockmog have a very good following and is supported by members that offer there free time to arrange meetings. We are all Morgan owners and love our cars and meeting other owners and talking crap (or we would not be on here). I am a member of MSCC and enjoy the the monthly magazine
We should not knock anyone that gives up there free time, free of charge to arrange meetings that other people enjoy.
Very much in the dog house, could be up for rehoming

Wurlitzer better name than some. Hey, I have one of those ... I'm frequently on the keys although it's a little loud in the living room! As to MSCC, I have considered for the last couple of years whether or not to continue. I was all set to leave this time round but decided to wait and see what difference the changes would make. As others has said, the most active Morgan community seems to be right here on TM. ~iw
