The higher the mileage the better IMHO ! Couldn't agree more! Will be hitting 14000 miles in the morning after my latest wander round NW Scotland.

Paul I thought yours was up for sale and you were out for some time. Good to see you are really still in. Organise another meet and with any luck your chassis will break like mine and the other two who came in 3W's. To the last outing. If your keeping yours get out there and get some on the clock. The engine definitely feels better with more smiles on the clock and the cam belt issues I am sure we're mostly bad handling /fitting at S and S. I check mine every few K and so far no sign of wear.
I would also love a garage full of all sorts of toys but if you can afford only one the 3w knocks spots of any bike or car.
Drove a friend back from the pub the other day with his missus following in her golf. Fantastic road very twisty and we manfully took every corner old school fashion leaning with elbows out etc etc, felt just like Stirling Moss I did note the golf was not far behind at any point in the proceedings. When we got home his missus who also happens to be a work colleague asked why I was hanging about and not driving fast as I usualy do. In addition I hadn't broken the speed limit more than a couple of times in half an hour. Sums up the 3W. Brilliant fun at half the speed I would have to go in a Caterham

I was confused by this too but thought it was just me...; wasnt number 2 sold? What's the story Paul? And are "hearing aid beige" and caramel the same thing? Matty; nice story, fully agree!

I swapped a Carera 4 for the M3W, now I can have twice the fun at less than half the speed! Downside, you get wet when it rains.

Matty you probably do drive slower in an M3W as you just seem to be going faster & its just more fun at moderate speeds. On dual carriageway indicated 65mph just seems the right speed. Just need to keep above 60 to loose the bevel box whine. I just renewed my insurance with Gott & Wynne & they accepted the agreed value at 36K as when new.

Actually you are quite right about speed and fun, they are not the same thing at all. I had an M3 convertible back in 2002, and even with the hood down, I had to be doing 100 or more to feel the sensation of speed - a very dangerous state of affairs. In my various Caterhams, the fun is in the acceleration and the cornering ability to enjoy them, and in the Three Wheeler, the fun is just the whole car and the way it does things, which doesn't mean that it should do things badly, which it used to, but not now - allegedly?
I have got my Three Wheeler advertised, but I'm not trying too hard to sell it, if it sells then good, if not, then fine, I'll continue to enjoy it. No-one should ever get into the situation of being desperate to sell, a bit like leaving the table before you are full, [something I can never seem to do!] I'm also strangely tempted by the low mileage Roadster 4 seater at Berrybrook, but it will have to come down in price a mite first.
The 'Sport Caramel' came about when I was accosted by an old lady who was enthusing over the car and saying that when she was a young 'gal' she went out with a man who had one in exactly the same shade of Caramel, and I rather liked it, it is far more descriptive of the colour than 'sand' ugh! Oh, and on reflection, I thought hearing aid beige, whilst true, was a little dismissive of everyone who has to wear a hearing aid, which will probably be me soon, at this rate, my wife has been telling me for years that I'm deaf whenever she is talking to me! A line which I am sure all married men are familiar with?
Tim just read your post, maybe you have a duff car, I normally have trouble keeping the cruising revs at 3500, and even at 4000 it is not complaining, one reason that my wife doesn't passenger me too much I fancy!

Paul I miss your point, you seem to say in first para that moderate speed are better then in last para you keep above 3500 rpm? My car has 5 gears does yours?

I'm not saying moderate speeds are better necesarily, but that cars which are so sophisticated like the M3 and various Porsches etc, lack the sensation of speed until well into triple figures.
My tongue is firmly in my cheek when referring to your 'duff' car. I'm talking cruising on wide open roads, like motorways and dual carriage ways, where you just want to end that section of journey as soon as possible, not the smaller roads on which the Three Wheeler is so much fun to drive on.
Effectively, I suppose I'm saying that the Three Wheeler is quite capable and willing to cruise at 4000rpm in 5th should the driver want to.
