As updated in the "Brooklands Exhausts" thread, the portuguese dealer has received another set of exhausts for my M3W, let's hope this one is the real deal. The other major issue I have is still unsolved though. I'm talking about the Suplex front suspension that clearly doesn't fit the car. With both cars in Lisbon now I took a picture of them in the garage and then decided to do a sequence of pictures (that I have sent to the dealer) so it becomes clear to anyone still in doubt that something's wrong. So, the car is stopped, in a leveled ground, nobody is sitting on it, nothing is being done to load or unload a suspension that is, shall we say, at rest. And, as can be seen, the right side exhaust is in contact on top of the Suplex shock/spring. It's not a case of insufficient clearance, it's a case of "NO" clearance at all. Here the pics I sent to my dealer. In the order I took them. Family Photo M3W (Overview) Left side exhaust / shock small clearance Right side exhaust / shock NO clearance

Mario,
if we assume (and when talking about Morgans all assumptions must be made with great care..)that the suspension parts are broadly stmetrical and the X Wedge motor is also symetrical about a vertical centre line then there can only be two logical conclusions:
First, the motor is mounted in the chassis, or the chassis is, out of true.
Second, the right side header pipe is incorrectly bent.
Looking carefully at the photos it seems to me that the right side header pipe has a slight "bananna" shape where the left hand pipe is almost straight, in both cases between the cylinder head and the first bend.
On the right side the distance between the exhaust and indicator is much greater than the same gap on the left hand side.
So it seems to me that the problem is with the exhaust headers and not the suspension. I hope so, it is much easier to fix....
Good luck with this!

Or the mounting brackets on one side are at different heights to the other. Worth checking as I guess like any motorbike the exhaust can swivel at the head of the cylinder?

It does seem to be a problem with the exhaust headers: look at the gaps to the sidelights.

The engine is not symmetrical. One cylinder ( the right one ) is forward...so the exhaust is not the symmetrical as the suspension parts. The different position of one cylinder made this happened. I have a 2012 M3W...but probably i made a mistake with my presentation thread... I'm sorry for my English but I hope I was clear

I'm sorry...not the right cylinder but the left one. Is the right one if you look at the front of the 3W

I was about to say the same as drk . The headers on mine also touched the spring on both sides but I was able to get enough clearance by winding the springs up .

Mine touches, just, (on full compression) on one side, but not the other. I have the Spax Adjustables. I wound the height back up to pretty much where it came from the factory but this was still too tight. I then loosened the offending header pipe and exhaust mounts and gave the pipe a little 'lift', as there's some adjustable movement in the pipe-to-cylinder head interface. Tightened all back up and now the shock only just 'kisses' the pipe in extremis, so I left it at that.
I have the Empire Kit risers to get my straight track arms.
All these setups are different, so there is no guaranteed 'fix' that will apply consistently to ALL cars I fear.

This is from SUPLEX. In an email I got sent when I was in the Caramulo Motorfestival, therefore about two to three weeks after I collected my car.
The Morgan factory have an 'up lift' conversion (M3W front) we designed for the 'none existent' exhaust change. They claim there have been no changes to the profile or routing of the pipe. However we have had to create a redesigned spring 20mm shorter and a revised adjustable platform to complement this which is a single unit locked by a grub screw. It raises the lower end of the spring 20mm which make a big difference relative to the exhaust. No change in ride height. AERO RACING (spare dept) have these available.
Now, one has to wonder the reason that made MMC give me a car with - shall we call them - "the fat Mk1 edition" of the Suplex shocks if they knew there was a clearance problem and had already new - shall we call them - "thin Mk2 edition" - Suplex shocks.

Perhaps they thought you wouldn't notice as they had a shelf full of the fat ones.
