Hi,

I've recently had problems with the drivers seat belt on my 4/4, it keeps jamming up. Usually it will free up after a couple of pulls but now has jammed completeley. I've priced a new belt from Morgan dealers but the price is the usual Morgan markup. Has anyone replaced one recently and do they have a supplier name. Any advice on replacing it would be welcome.

Thanks

Phil

Try http://quickfitsbs.com/gallery.php they supplied a seat belt for my 08 car, posted to Leicester including VAT for less than 1/3rd the price a Morgan Dealer wanted without VAT or postage! All they required was a photo of the belt and were very helpful when I asked for a 3" longer buckle stalk to avoid the rub on the transmission tunnel leather. No connection, just a very happy customer!

Thanks, much appreciated.

Did you change the belt yourself?

Hi Phil, in the finish they diagnosed that it was a buckle end fault and so I just changed the pair of those. The price they quoted for the complete belt got me interested and when I rang to order the chap talked through the problem and diagnosed a buckle release problem, as I was unhappy the way my hip was rubbing the buckle and damaging the transmission tunnel leather anyway he suggested a longer buckle stalk to move the buckle up above the tunnel when fastened, he even said if by some chance it's not the buckle and you want to change the rest of the belt they would adjust the price, he was THAT helpful. Can't remember the chaps name but he was so helpful.

Thanks.

I need to get the whole inertia reel out of the back, but not sure what's involved. I'll be taking bits off the car until I get to the reel at the weekend.

I've never tackled this job, but prepare for some contortions. There is very limited access from inside the spare wheel well, but it might be easier to cut a hole in the panel behind the seats. Please report back because it's a job I might have to tackle one day.

Hi Phil
With regards to the removal of the front seat belt reel from your 4 seater, you will need to remove the centre consul form between the rear seats. The fixing top bolts for the rear seat belts will have to be removed, and then the centre consul trim will lift up, check to see it the are screws in the front lower edge under the carpet.
Once this is up out of the way you will need to jack the car up and put it on stands, at this point you will need two people one under the car and one in side to undo the reel securing bolt.
Undo the other seat belt mounting bolts and the seat belt can be withdrawn.
Good luck
You do not need to cut any holes in the car to remove the belt, just remove centre consul.

Hi Guys,

Had another go at getting the seat belts out of my 4/4/(2001) 2 seater. Managed to loosen the bolt a little but that all. It seems impossible to get two spanners in there and your hands. I thought in was fixed bolt but no the nut/bolt spin together.

Anybody tried to get them out and can advise I'd apreciate the advice.

Thanks

Phil
