Missed the badger! Reminds me of a story of a friend of my son. She swerved to miss a rabbit, hit a rock in the gra ss at the side of the lane, damaged the front wheel, spun her car and hit the rabbit with the back wheels.
Hope the rabbit appreciated all of the effort!
That was an expensive meal...

Lovely run out this morning to Dearnford Lake just outside of Whitchurch for a breakfast classic car meet organised by the TR club and joined by many others. Met up with the Kev44, Red3W and a few other Morgan owners. Nice little run up to Peckforton Castle and home.
I went to the classic day at Castle Coombe, great day, but I drove the CR-V because my eldest son says I drive too fast in the Morgan! I wept all day seeing the great cars and I came in a CR-V. That's the last time I take him to an "event". He is 42 not f-----g 82 says her indoors.
Great run over the moor to Princetown for the customary heart attack on a plate and return - nice and fresh but topless and shirt sleevable.
On exiting the jail area I picked up and followed a Red MGesque 1930-40 shape type thing (pretty) with 1500 HRD as the only badging on the rear spare wheel - any ideas - I thought HRD were synonymous with Vincent motorcycles or is this a special with an HRD p/u.

A long weekend Monday in Sydney today so up early and off through the Royal National Park south of the city along Lady Wakefield Drive. Followed Lawerance Hargrave Dirve to Stanwell Tops for a breakfast/coffee stop then home via Princes Highway. Very little traffic and home by 9.30am. 73 Klms of fun Morgan driving and she ran like a gem now that I have sorted an electrical gremlin.

Got back Tuesday night from a Concours at St Michaels on the eastern shore of Maryland. Highly recommended region if you are near Washington DC and like the waterfront and seafood. I took the 1938 DHC and was in the Pre War Sports Car class. This usually means the little Morgan is placed with the likes of Delahayes, Delages, Bugattis and so on. Hard to compete. Was lucky this time and came in 2nd to a Steyr 220. A wonderful Alvis 25 was pulled out of the class for a special award. I suspect that helped me. Steve Beer, of CMC Enterprises, the Canadian Morgan dealer in Ontario was there with a Rolls Royce restoration client. We took the opportunity to photograph the two cars together. Highly amusing. Thought I would share. Cheers,
Mark

Took the 1986 Plus 8 out today to get gasoline. The weather is 10 degrees F cooler than normal for this time of year and no humidity. Wonderful Morgan weather after lots and lots of rain. It has been so damp lately that the clutch was stuck and wouldn't disengage. Had to jack it up, start it in gear and hit the brakes to free it. All good now.
Cheers,
Mark
